Snap.
Just posted this on another thread:

"Any winger who plays consistently well gets in the team, imo.

If fit, Chair's a good bet to do that.
I wouldn't bet for or against any of the others."

Wow!

I really didn't get that one. Thought Pacino was woejus in it, really hamming it up.

Just watched 'One Battle After Another'. Damn good. A hoot and a howl.
Solid 8/10.

Old School - 4-4-2 At Home
at 17:00 21 Dec 2025

I'm not a fan of 4-4-2 but I agree with what you're saying broadly. I think it's not just having a second striker, I think it's attacking in numbers.

I also agree that there are times that 442 leads to us being swamped, so felixibility is the key.

I know, which is kind of hilarious!

He was very poor at Boro, though, which was his third game in a row. Not sure if that was fitness-related or not.

Agree with the praise for RND. Having a fine season. Again, the fitness thing is an issue. Hard to know if that stops, or should stop a permanent move, though.

Could we go up.
at 10:48 21 Dec 2025

Yes. One point off the playoffs. Of course we could.

I'm not sure that the squad is as good some think, though, and out fitness/injury record is also a concern.

100% agree, Toast_R, but very happy to hear that it was a minority.

Definitely, dm.

With him playing we can condense the play so we get the ball back much quicker.

Paul Parker

IIRC we were watching Parker, Coney and Houghton for a long time but didn't close any deals. We missed out on Houghton, but when the merger collapsed we signed Parker and Coney because we still wanted them and Fulham needed money.

Sints was chatting about that inquest as well, LB.

Same as you, disappointed that we lost the second half. JCS going off changed the game completely.

Try picking a MoM out of that performance Clive!

I'm sure this is just a joke, but if it isn't then there was nothing stopping him blocking and tackling last year.

Maybe you'll be right. But it's December.

And cult doesn't cut it. Only performances.
And being better so far than being very poor last year doesn't cut it either.

There's only them in the running, alright. Nourrington-Davies being the other, maybe?

No-one else is really playing well.

Shape and balance
at 18:55 20 Dec 2025

Agreed, Wilkins.

I posted at HT that what I was impressed with was our shape when Leiceter were on top.

That, once again, reduced massively as soon as JCS left the pitch.

Dembélé, by a stretch.
Terrifying from the start.

Seems to me that we pushed up more generally today, including pushing our two defensive central midfielders ten yards or so off the heels of the centre-backs.

Part of that was that we could maybe favour the more attacking Dembélé over Smyth who is better at defending with his right-back.

Dembélé was the beneficiary today.
And took his chance.
