Had a day's work cancelled on me, so I thought I'd watch the cricket today. First time in years, and I'd forgotten how much I love the experience of cricket on TV. |

Which reminds me of Truck Day. I thonk we mentioned it here before but Truck Day is when the American baseball teams' trucks full of equipment leave the home stadiums and head for wherever the teams are doing their Spring Training. Truck Day is huge. Crowds show up to cheer the trucks off. Then when they arrive crowds show up to watch the first day of training. The equivelant here would be to advertise the first day of training in our spanking new training ground, have it open to the public, create a party for kids, cheer the players as they arrive, food, drink, face painting, fun games, and then watch them do the first (light) day of training. It's a free hit for clubs, fans would love it. Can't see why we don't do it. |

I'm not sure it is. First year - (his first year working in football, as far as I know) damn good. Second year - very poor. And there may be many reasons for that, but two of the possibilities are that his luck from 2023/24 ran out or that he showed very poor judgement in continuing in a previously hands-on role while living abroad. We'll have to see if this is good news or not. |

New to me. In Cork City slang a Beour is a good-looking young woman. Very close. FWIW, it's said to have derived from either Viking or Traveller languages. |

Good post, Vancouver. It's interesting watching our club since Nourry joined, and wondering if we'll go down the American route you describe. Time will tell. |

So why haven't they done that already? And you now know what Nourry's bargaining position is going to be? My question was a general one for the board about contract pay-outs in general, and not really for you as I don't believe half of what you say at the best of times. |

Just a question - if Cifuentes gets a pay-off wouldn't part of that be conditional on him being out of work, and therefore not payable if Cifuentes took a job soon afterwards? |

I'm a recent convert, but know nothing, so will be going to school on this thread. Thanks! |

Forest have to be in the running, just based on our away record up there? [Post edited 18 Jun 15:13]
