Interesting crowd reaction to 2 substitutions
at 23:43 15 Feb 2025

Stuie was a real loss, the only player we had with guile and intelligence. Loved his trademark diagonal runs...he should have been played more.

Felt very sorry for Smallbone, he didn't deserve that.

Bournemouth Game Matchday Thread
at 21:53 15 Feb 2025

I've never left a game more than 3 minutes early, and then only if I really need to make a quick exit to a prior engagement. I see 95% of games to the bitter end. This might be because it's a 2 hour drive to the ground and I want to make the most of the experience, good or bad, but it also just feels wrong walking out on the team I support.
I stayed to the bitter end of the Brentford game which was one of our worst games this season and I can understand why many left early, and I didn't applaud the team because they were rubbish, but maybe I endure the shite times because it'll make the good times, when they come that much sweeter.
I stayed to the end today with my son because you never know when we might score a late goal, and because the team did try. And when KWP walked round the ground on his own applauding the crowd, we clapped him. After all, he's been a great servant to Saints.

Things started to wrong with them when they bought Vestergard and Bertrand.

Then why isn't he here, steering the ship? Surely Saints is the biggest jewel in the SR crown? We're definitely going to be the biggest loss in revenue when we get relegated.

As it stands, Is there any more point in Southampton F C being a football club ?

After the Bournemouth game we should have dug deep and appointed Moyes. Potter would never have come but Moyes might of fancied the beautiful South Coast as he nears retirement.
SR left it all too late.

Onuachuis only now is starting to get the service he needs to score goals. When Selles played him I remember thinking what was is the point if if no one is crossing into the box. It was the same with RM, no crosses, no cut-backs and no diagonal high balls, which just left Paul stranded. With RM we rarely got out of our own third of the pitch anyway.
Under Juric suddenly there are crosses, threaded forward passes, high balls etc all of which will give him a greater chance of scoring goals.
He isn't the prolific PL striker we need, but we are only now starting to play to his strengths.

Southampton V Ipswich Town The Verdict
at 10:57 3 Feb 2025

Now we're playing a more open game we're more vulnerable to fast breaks through our defence. This has to be sorted quickly. Both Bednarek and THB lack pace, so they need to be communicating better, and not push up so much.
It's horrible watching the oppo running through us like that.

Harwood Bellis flying into their box too. We need them to do what they're meant to do, defend.

Dibbling on his way to Spurs ?
at 11:27 1 Feb 2025

Yes you are right, I was getting carried away there.
Maybe 3 'proven', good quality players, from the UK or abroad who would join Southampton in the Championship knowing we would be contenders for promotion.

Exactly. Get £55m for Dibling and buy 2 proven top flight players for £25m each.

He would really develop well in the current Bournemouth team, and it couldn't be better suited to his style of play.
Also he'd still be close to family and friends which is important when you're only 18.
I'd say B'mouth have got the money to buy him aswell.

Tyler Dibling Could Be Sold By Saints In January But loaned Back

It would be a great shame to lose him. I would love to see him here for the next couple of years, strutting his stuff like a Matt Le Tiss 2, he would become a true legend and then no one would begrudge him leaving for a top club.

The thought of him going to Spunk is sickening.

Watching this at home. Commentators all saying that was not a penalty. Disgraceful decision.

Southampton Said To Have made Decision On Tyler Dibling's Transfer
at 14:43 23 Jan 2025

I really think at least another year with us, even in the Championship, will be better for his development than the meat- grinder atmosphere of a big club.
At 18 he'll be in competition with some big talents and big egos, and if he has a poor spell he'll be dropped like a bag o' shite.
Southampton will look after him, he'll be amoung friends and he'll get even better. Maybe think about leaving when he's 20.
