Red Fox and HSB both available at the Mad Bishop And Bear on Paddington station yesterday, when I was stuck there due to cloud of gas over Didcot Parkway or suchlike. |

Palace '77-80 "sash" kit
West Brom away yellow and green stripes - rare example of better/more distinctive away kit than home IMO.
(Ajax and Feyenoord as mentioned by others also cool kits - for some reason the Dutch are really good at this, their national strip is usually excellent too.) |

Will bounce back so long as he recovers 100% from injury.
My guess is that he's been carrying a niggle since pre-season and it's just taking the edge off him.
I just hope it's not one of those ones that the player never quite recovers from. |

In case it helps, I was reading today about a local councillor up in rural Scotland who's had to resign.
There's an option on election nomination forms that allows you to appear on the ballot paper under the name you're "usually known as", which in his case was AI Willie.
Turns out the name on his birth certificate is William and his business provides the bovine semen for all the local farmers.

That's interesting, I recently came across that Amelia thing because like you I was trawling YouTube, in my case looking for a specific C18th British Army marching song referenced in some history I was reading and I wanted to check the lyrics, and it was one of the clearest recordings for that purpose.
As an actual musical performance it did strike me as competent but slightly fake - not obviously computer-generated but none of the rough edges or feeling that you get with real folk music, and, well, not really British (which was supposedly the point) - an American's idea of Britishness if you like. |

Little known fact that Claude Debussy was a massive Rangers fan as a result of attending the 1908 Charity Shield while he was In London to conduct at Queen's Hall and that Prelude a l'Apres Midi d'un Faune was inspired by a heavy session in a pub in the Goldhawk Road.
Le Martyre de St Sebastien, his late 5-act musical mystery play, was originally going to be entitled For God's Sake Why Can't We Just Clear The F*cking Thing Nom d'Un Chien Et Sacre Bleu, a meditation on the Rangers defence in the last 5 minutes of most home games. |

Leaving aside that I don't like taking pops at former players unless they've been dicks to us, I don't accept that winning teams are just about racking up better players (which was essentially the Redknapp claim).
We can all see that the squad is stronger than last year (and yes, some credit has to go to Nourry, same as he has to take the blame for previous failures such as Celar or, arguably, Dembele) but overall our spending has not been massive. I don't think other clubs were falling over themselves to eg sign Kamara but he looks a very useful addition in exactly the role we needed.
Overall I don't think there's been some sort of lightbulb moment with Stephan, I don't think what he's doing right now is radically different from what he tried to do with his previous clubs. I think it's been a process of putting things together on a budget over a couple of years, and establishing a team ethos. It takes time. Let's hope this year is Our Time. |

I dunno, I know we've seen this before, but I still I feel quite sad about this.
Sorry for the fans, who've done nothing wrong, and for the players and their families. Often in club insolvencies there are small suppliers and St John's ambulance etc left out of pocket.
No sympathy for the owners but we get owners like that in football because the whole financial model encourages it.
As ever I'm left feeling grateful for our current owners, we could do lots worse. |

Seny Dieng was another who had long spells out on loan, in his case before he'd played for us at all.
Things haven't quite worked out for him the way I'd hoped but for a long time he looked like our most valuable asset. |

By "shouldn't treat him as a 1st Teamer" I was probably being sloppy in my language - I don't mean he should be got rid of our consigned to the Dev squad.
But I do think that he's not first choice in any position right now so we need to think whether he's best used as a squad player, not necessarily getting into the match day squad let alone starting, or whether that role could be better given to one of the lads who impressed in pre-season and instead let him play regularly somewhere he can hone his game.
Got to be the right sort of loan though, there's no point in him racking up games at a lower level than he was playing at two years ago unless it's in a progressive side that plays something like the style we would want him to here. |

Frankly his first season was in a squad (especially midfield) that was poor and his honest hard work and enthusiasm shone out. Fans quite rightly appreciated it and forgave him for being raw because he was a teenager (still under 21 now).
Too early to write him off IMO but also we shouldn't be treating him as a 1st teamer when we now have better options and I agree a loan would be a good move so long as it's the right loan - somewhere where he will get decent coaching. |
