And yet, further balanced against that is the risk to a player having to stay on the pitch whilst carrying an injury, possibly making it worse, or going down to ten men Whatever the circumstances, keeping one sub available carries less risk |

That in itself raises another slight concern, whereby using all five subs with still ten minutes plus added to go, an injury creates an unnecessary problem I'm being really picky here, but based on the "small margins" idea i'd prefer us to retain one sub until at least added time, when they can be used to slow the game down Understand the need to rest players too |

That was a lesson we should've learned after Halifax pulled us back in the last 5-10 minutes, but tbh their goal came out of nowhere, first shot of any kind. We seem better at defending a one goal lead On to Southend, and the potential to create clear water at the top |

Can't be too sure about that Players will be looking at their futures, with possible contract negotiations coming up. Uncertainty around ownership and secure provision of funding can have an impact. The vibe around the place can change, even in the short term That's not to say it will... but we have our own experiences of these things and can see the very real difference it makes when we have stability |

Not "expecting" anything... but maybe York are starting to feel the pressure and SoftLad will be starting to find a way to exert pressure. Who knows? |

Not bard at all... Owed to Dale Now leading the league of the nation We're safer from relegation That in seasons yet previous Despite the devious Attempts to bankrupt and derail The shame of directors found guilty Replaced by the pride of McNulty With Ogdens to spare We're not short of a chair Who through and through is for Dale |

As a "poetry fanatic" you can step into the breach and write the Ode to Dale instead |

That was very much my impression, looking to time his header then suddenly having his momentum altered in a way that doesn't just happen without an impact from elsewhere No idea what the ref thought he was looking at, since the change of momentum couldn't have been anything else but a considerable shove |

Very late post, after an incredibly important victory And didn't we have to work for it. But as important a three points as we'll ever get, when we needed them. Really enjoyed the game, good attendance and Boston worthy of staying in the National League That save from Olly just after we'd scored probably the most important save of the season Watched the game with someone who'd never been to Dale before, not even a football fan as such, but she ended up jumping out of her seat when the final whistle went Keep it going lads |

Possibly. Don't know whether it was a double-yellow or a yellow then straight red |

As per my post on the Brackley thread: Rochdale is currently the Gtr. Manchester "town of culture" Could the club consider using this opportunity to collaborate with the organisers to raise awareness of the great season Dale are having, and try to bring more people through the turnstiles for the remainder of the season? Football is very much part of the town's culture, and it's a global game involving all cultures, so no reason for us not to be included in this initiative which prides itself on 'inclusivity' For instance, how about inviting the local "poet laureate" to a game as a guest, prior to penning an Ode to Dale? https://www.rochdalecreates.co [Post edited 4 Mar 12:31]

With the run of Tues/Sat fixtures we've had recently, i think a lot of people might be finding their finances stretched. I was unable to be there last night (for other reasons) but i've been quite pleased with how our home fan numbers have been gradually increasing, hovering around 2500-2700 mark Obviously less last night, but expect most of them (us, me) to return against Boston This year, Rochdale is the Greater Manchester "town of culture" and football is - or should be - seen as part of our culture. Whilst i've no problem with initiatives which encourage activities in the fields of arts and performance (where 'inclusivity' can be seen and heard) our local sporting culture shouldn't be excluded from that, and the club might do well to approach the organisers of these events to suggest some kind of collaboration for the remainder of the season. In fact, i'm going to put this forward as a question to the forthcoming CAB meeting. All of this, with the aim of growing our fanbase [Post edited 4 Mar 12:11]

Whilst we'll be without Gilmour and TAR during these games, one of their key players, Stones, will be suspended for a couple of them As others have said, i expect Pettit to step up to the plate now, which he already has done in his limited time on the pitch. Might need a slight adjustment in our play since he seems to have a more solid holding style and not pushing forward as much, but that might actually work in our favour. He can move the ball on quickly and allow others such as East to forage ahead |
