 | Forum Reply | McClean kicks Ronald in the head at 16:03 20 Dec 2025
This happened right front of where we were sitting and not one of our group saw this. In fact most of us were discussing how Ronald’s antics count against us. McLean is a disgrace. I have spoken to fans of clubs that he has played for and it is pretty unanimous that none of them really wanted him representing their club [Post edited 20 Dec 16:11]

Think you are spot on about Parkinson (let’s hope Wrexham keep him in charge) On another night Galbraith could easily have had a second yellow but it would have been totally inconsistent in the way the game was refereed (the ref let many worse challenges go) Feel you have been a bit harsh on Widell. Ollie Cooper is the epitome of a headless chicken. Widdell hasn’t lived up to expectations yet but hasn’t really had a run of starts either. He needs to start more games before we can see his potential imo |

I have watched the Scrum V that you mentioned. Sean Holley did open up a little bit, Jonathan Davies was a bit more reserved. I sensed that both were biting their lip a bit being very careful what they said. ‘Don’t bite the hand that feeds’ is an expression that comes to mind. Many ex players are still making a living out of their rugby connections and they don’t want to mess that up by being outspoken |

Of course Jamie Roberts will not speak against it, firstly he is from Cardiff, and isn’t he on the WRU board as some kind of non executive director ? I’d have thought someone like AWJ would have had something to say but he is apparently up the for the £160kpa Technical Director position. The silence from recent ex pro players & coaches from the Ospreys region is deafening. As already stated the people in charge do not understand the game or history of rugby in Wales. This new lot at the WRU are addressing the whole issue from the top down trying to justify all their decisions on business actions. Whereas they should be serving the sport of rugby in Wales from the bottom up. Nothing like a solid foundation to work from, but they just don’t want to see it. They haven’t learnt from the loss of opportunity of regional rugby. They have already alienated & lost Pontypridd & the Rhondda, they have lost most of the Gwent valleys & now they will lose a huge mass of the country from Bridgend to Swansea. Clueless doesn’t begin to cover it [Post edited 16 Dec 19:21]

The problem there is that if he is replaced by a wet lettuce Biden or Kamala Harris type then the cycle will be repeated. Pretty sure the whole of Europe will welcome a ‘lame duck President’ |

Good derby atmosphere at the Stadium of Light today. Worked with a lot of Geordies & Mackems over the years. It always seemed their dislike for each other was largely confined to matchdays. Can’t say I ever witnessed the perennial hatred that exists between Swans-Cardiff, Rangers-Celtic, West Ham-Millwall or Utd-Liverpool. Just my experience |

I think many would agree with you & maybe they will apply to join the English league. The problem looming is that the Ospreys owners have apparently bid to takeover Cardiff |

I found these statements interesting : “Apollo investment raises questions again as to why the Welsh government needed to provide £18m of non-repayable grant … State aid disclosures, which appear to have been written by an officer of Wrexham county borough council, claimed there was “no incentive for the private sector to pursue the project” of redeveloping the stadium, and that developing to international standard would be “commercially unviable”. International football going to Wrexham ? |

They can’t for obvious reasons at least not any lucrative multi year deals. That’s why they have so many players that will be out contract at the end of the season including Lake & Morgan. They are both in a strong position to negotiate hard with any French or English club as they know that they will both be offered a WRU contract but will have to play where they are told |

No-one could blame them. They both seem quite injury prone & their careers could be over very quickly if they carry on accumulating regular injuries. I don’t see any incentive for them to stay with the ongoing shambles. They just need to work out the best financial deals for themselves & go for it. Loyalty & pats on the back won’t be paying their bills in ten years time |

Oil companies will bid for operation & pay for the privilege to operate. They will pay a percentage of the price per barrel of oil produced . Pipelines are not essential in this day and age. Even in the North Sea deep water operations use mobile drilling rigs & floating production & storage operations vessels (FPSO) to extract crude oil & gas |

Good to see so many positive comments. He has pedigree, came through Chelsea kids teams. Unfortunately he got injured last season at a critical point when the first team squad had injuries or he may have had his chance. We ended up playing Naughton as a centre back for a few games. Let him stay there and play, now is not the time to bring him back |

I read somewhere that the ban for gouging was between 12 weeks and 12 months. It looks like they have gone for the minimum. Hardly a surprise. What I was more amazed at were the sympathetic comments by Biggar & Warburton in the aftermath … cowardly & shameful and that’s just the comments, the intent was clear for all to see |

It has to be said that none of the on loan players have really cemented their position in the starting eleven. A couple of them are most definitely better than some of our own yet they continually get chopped & changed. It was never clear under Sheehan nor is it now what our strongest starting line up looks like. As stated in the article the lack of staff with the right experience at the club is not helping. Due to this lack of focus survival is the only thing that matters now. The new coach has to identify his strongest players & play them. There is no room for experimentation or developing players whilst we are in the relegation mix. Survival first then reset (again). The lack of strategic direction on & off the pitch has been disastrous & it could still get worse [Post edited 4 Dec 18:05]

She was called out on misleading the house about the size of the black hole live on tv several times today. Her response was that she was proud to be bringing so many kids out of poverty. She never answered the question. She is a liar, she knew exactly what she was doing & so does everyone else now. |

First time I went in there I can remember queuing at the bar then seeing someone open one of the huge American style fridges - filled from top-to-bottom with kebab skewers. Never seen so many, well worth a try too. Pub looks small from the outside but when you go in it’s room after room after room, usually pretty rammed in there but decent atmosphere for a mixed fans pub |
