Thereās no quick fix to getting back a couple of thousand lost fans. Cheap tickets & better marketing may put a few on the crowd but will only have a short term effect.
Winning & attractive football is the most effective antidote. Passing the ball around the back four deep in our own half then boasting about dominating the ball fools no-one any more.
Appoint a manager with personality & contacts in the game. Someone with an up to date vision of how the modern game is being played
Make a statement signing or 2 - show some intent & ambition to strengthen the squad not gambling with unknowns
Do these basic steps & start next season strongly & thereās a decent chance that crowds will improve
Congreve, Cotterill, Wilson need to be assessed quickly by the new manager. They will be in demand in the lower divisions but wonāt bring in much in fees as few clubs at that level can afford it.
Kuharevich & Yates need to be sold to the highest bidders if there are any
Kompany must have seen him to be a long shot of getting a few goals to keep them up last season & a fall back if they were relegated. Then they actually saw what he was like in training. Amazing, he had a purple patch with us of about a dozen games & he should be set up for life financially ā¦ but has he had the ānousā to invest that money wisely ? Most footballers struggle with that aspect of life
Up there with Salah as best in the EPL striker stakes. Ā£72m release clause apparently - could see Arsenal, Man C, Man U, Chelsea , Liverpool or Real Madrid making a move for him but canāt see Newcastle taking a bid unless he wants out
Wayyy too early to say Sheehan is the man long term. He is already an employee give him a few more weeks to make his case, if he gets a couple more results give him until the end of the season. Blackburn may be just be a blip not the new norm. Just like QPR & second half Bristol City were positive blips for Luke.
Not easy to relax until we have points on the board - we still have to play Plymouth, Derby, Hull, Middlesbrough, Oxford & Burnley at home. If we donāt get enough points from those fixtures then we will deserve to go down. Our home form has been atrocious
Canāt see us getting much away Preston, Leeds, Sunderland, Watford, QPR, Millwall
Game has moved on & the EPL has been changing since Leicester won it in 2016 with all out counter attacking football.
The better sides still tend to dominate the ball but itās the high octane, pace & press styles that are dominating the leagues - Liverpool & Leeds both doing and but good to watch with it. Tippy-tappy at walking pace will never work
Of course we havenāt. We have relied on individuals past acquaintances & Agents contacting us. Celtic donāt half unearth some decent players, but then again they can almost guarantee Champions League football most seasons
