Would be a real shame to lose Ollie mid season. Makes a real difference whenever he plays and won't be easy to replace

A football club virgins banner would be more appropriate

All in One Garden Centre shirt 1988-89
at 11:22 4 Jul 2019

Found this shirt on Ebay last summer. It had managed to find itself in the Ukraine. Supposedly an XL but fits like a medium so sadly I can't really wear it without it looking like a sports bra on me. Lovely shirt though and definitely memorable. I'll have to dig it out tonight.

Your favourite game that didn't mean much

Fulham in the league cup back in 2001, one of my very first Dale memories and remember being heartbroken and crying in the family stand. First real footballing heartbreak for me.

Interested to know what peoples favourite matches are that they have attended but aren't all that special in reality. Dale or non-Dale.

Watching big Pete rise like a salmon to head home the equaliser in injury time was magnificent

What would happen if we managed the improbable?
at 16:52 22 Oct 2018

Pretty much that, high chance if it ever happens we would come straight back down so putting plans in place so we don't get stuck paying large wages to players upon relegation

He played against Coventry in the league and got injured near the end of the game but had to stay on as the Norman also got injured. Most likely still injured.

New signing?
at 17:12 23 Aug 2018

Rafferty was poor last season and hasn't started much better this season either. Cannon is far more effective in the midfield. This makes sense. It's not one or the other either, we may still sign a striker on loan before the end of the loan window

That clubs falling to pieces and it's fun to watch. That being said hopefully they don't go under and can sort it out but it's a little bit of a rude awakening for a club that think they are a lot bigger than they are

I agree it was our weakness but not so much down to the players we had there but what we were missing. Camps, Cannon and Rathbone on their day are brilliant but none of them are great at calming the play down when we needed them too

So, Season To Remember Or Season To Forget?
at 10:52 8 May 2018

Easily a season to remember for me and my mates.
Started off going to watch us play Pompey away losing 2-0 and then nearly dying when we had a car accident on the M40 on the way home. Got over that malarkey only to see us play like utter tripe for a few months and then went to see us play Millwall away and comfortably boss the game against a Championship side that nearly made the play offs and then beat them in the replay at home. Got to watch us take the lead against Spurs at home and then score a last minute equaliser when we were down and out. Watched us play at Wembley for only the second time in our history. Beat a very good Shrewsbury side at home 3-1 when a minute earlier we thought we were leaving with yet another victory snatched away in the last few minutes. Then finally finished the season off by running on the pitch and kissing the receding hairline of an incredibly sweaty Matt Done. Plenty of highs and plenty of lows but ultimately a season to remember!

Match thread: Wigan home
at 16:31 11 Apr 2018

Alright based of off our home form since going 3 at the back we would currently be in 23rd. However, if it was just our away form since going 3 at the back we would be 5th.

Not many managers play a different formation home and away, and sticking with the continuity has arguably helped us in the more difficult away games. Which is how we've managed to claw back a fighting chance of survival.

Our attack wasn't doing anything when we played 4 at the back and our defence wasn't good enough to keep the opposition out. At least with the 3 at the back we have been able to hold out for a draw when we arguably would have lost all 3 of those "horrible results".

We haven't been clinical enough all year and that's been the biggest problem, not the formation. We have created chances all year but no one other than Hendo (and even he has missed his fair share) has been putting them in the net consistently enough.
