 | Forum Thread | One that got away . Anton Robinson at 09:15 24 Mar 2025
England missed out on a natural quality left back. Anton Robinson of Fulham was born in England but chose to play for USA. He is in my opinion the best left back in the Premier lge. I know it's only my opinion but he really does look a good player. [Post edited 24 Mar 9:15]

Quite right. The incentive for both Players + Managers (now called coaches) is to fail. Get yourself a nice long contract then do nothing but underachieve for the remainder of your contract or better still get moved on with your contract paid up & walk (yes walk, can't expect a player to run) into another club with a similar contract. Then they complain about the pressure of being a Professional footballer (eg. Marcus Rashford & many others). |

I remember watching Wimbledon warm up before a game at the Dell. The Brass Band were doing their usual March around the pitch when Vinnie Jones decided to target the Big Bass Drum player. Vinnie in the middle of the pitch lined up the poor fella with the drum & hit straight on the back of the head with tha ball. That was when we had characters in football, very entertaining ( but not if you were the big bass drum player). |

I understand that point about a % of the ball being on the quadrant line. But I have seen some corners taken when the whole of the ball was very obviously outside the quadrant. Don't suppose it makes much difference but it's just an observation. Also what about keepers carrying the ball outside the box before they kick / release it, that should be picked up as handball. I remember at the Dell the crowd were so close to the pitch that players were not able to have a proper run up to the ball to take corners. |

We still insist on making 6 passes to get the ball where one pass will take us. At least Thomas Tuchel picked up on that in his post match interview, hopefully he can cure us of that problem. |

Refs & officials wearing Black kit. Teams were not allowed to wear anything resembling black because it would clash with ref . Also the ball inside the quadrant when taking corners. |

The only reason Ingsy has avoided injury over the last 2 or 3 seasons is because he's only been a bit part player, he's only played a few minutes of each game. He would never survive playing 90 mins in the Championship. It a big boys physical lge & Ingsy wouldn't last 5 mins in the lge. But we don't need to worry because he won't come back here, he is mercenary & is driven by money, there's no way that we could (or would) satisfy his wage demands. |

I agree about KWP, as pretty as he may be on the ball he is actually a very poor defender. Poor in one on one Poor at winning 50 /50 balls. Poor positional Too small & Poor in the air. Carries the ball too far when going forward Ineffective & Poor decision making in final third. That's why he is still here despite being talked about leaving in every transfer window. Is it obvious that I don't rate KWP. |
 | Forum Thread | Burnley lose 3 - 0 to Preston, shows just how bad we are. at 14:32 1 Mar 2025
After beating us in the last round Burnley have just lost 3 - 0 to Preston in the FA Cup. That just shows how bad we are. Good job we are not in the Championship this season because we'd struggle to survive with the current coach & squad. |
 | Forum Reply | Just what do they do in training? at 11:32 28 Feb 2025
I agree with you Grumps. Tall Paul might not be fantastic but he's still the best we've got. He's more difficult to play against that AA or BBD or CA. And given some decent service he'll score more than the other three put together. |

Genuine quote. Cloughie's team talk on occasions was, he'd walk into changing room with a ball under his arm & say " This is a ball, when we haven't got it, get it & when we've got it keep it". Unfortunately we don't have players that can do either. |

I agree with this Nick. Put Simon Rusk in charge until we can officially get rid of Juric in the Summer at no cost. We have absolutely nothing to lose by doing this & we could just possibly get the 3 points needed to beat Derby points total of 11. Can't believe that all we can hope for this season is to get enough points so that we are not going on record as worse team in the history of Premier Lge. Didn't think it would ever come to this but perhaps we should have expected it under the ownership of SR. |
 | Forum Reply | Hate to say this at 09:07 26 Feb 2025
This current team will not get us promoted from Championship next season. I don't think they would get promoted from lge 1. We are going to struggle to survive next season in Championship unless we can get New owners, Sports Republic are not concerned about winning football matches providing that they are making money. Their model of Multi Club ownership does not benefit Saints. Their sole interest should be Saints & that's never going to happen all the time that they have interest in other foreign clubs. |
 | Forum Thread | 3 ctr backs on the bench & Ariba playing ctr back at 19:19 25 Feb 2025
Sorry, I just don't get it. We've got 3 ctr backs on the bench yet Joe Aribo being used as a makeshift ctr back again tonight against Chelsea. Square pegs & round holes. What is it about our team selections that I don't understand. [Post edited 25 Feb 19:20]

I forgot Ramsdale. He's too good to be playing for us & he won't be for much longer. But playing for us & having so much to do & so many brilliant saves he's made has probably raised his profile, more so than sitting on the bench at Arsenal, I think that is exactly what he thought when he signed for us. |

Not sure why there was all this hype about Ross Stewart , when we signed him he hadn't played for 9 months. Apart from two games for Scottish National team the highest level he'd ever played at was our Lge 1. Scoring goals in that league doesn't translate to playing & scoring goals in Premier lge. Even if he'd been fit all this time he would not have got regular games in our very poor team. ( not even at ctr back). He's history & another example of how badly the club has wasted millions of £'s. |
