Geno still ripping it up at 82 y.o.
Playing the Half Moon in Putney this Friday...just down the road....I think I'll swerve it.
When Hendrix first came over Chas Chandler picked him up and got him pick-up gigs with some of his (Chandler's) pop' tastic acts like Unit 4 plus 2.

And we won 4-1 so relax.
The issue is that the ref is perfectly within his rights to overule the lino BUT he must not be allowed to perform the role of a human VAR system involving a 10 minute chat with him.
Old school says...immediately overule...blow for free kick and run towards the centre circle...any player running after him chirping wins the prize of a yellow card. |

Going back to the late 60's(where you normally find me) a great night out was a concert with Geno Washington and the Ram...Jam...Band..sort of tongue in cheek soul..loads of brass and percussion ..played the Guildhall and the old Concorde a few times. |

Met my cousin for a catch-up last night and mentioned this thread.
He reminded me that our Mums had been skating the week before it got the living shit bombed out of it in 1940.
He recalled that after 2 G and T's that story put them there the day before the bombing and after 2 more G and T's she claimed they were doing their nifty manoeuvres on the ice when the bomb actually hit.
Clear evidence of the direct correlation between alcohol and bullshit. |

You're gonna have to be old because it shut in 1963.
If memory serves it was in a complex with the Ice Rink and a dog stadium.
Speedway was really popular back then and the Southampton Saints won the National League in the very early 60's with legendary riders like Barry Briggs and Bjorn Knutsen on the team.
A bit niche but someone on here might have gone. |

That's how I recall it.
Memories fade but I still remember the excitement back in the 60" being ferried over now and again to take a dip.Would probably gave been less hassle to just jump off Hythe Pier.
A crafty Google tells me there were Turkish baths there but I don't recall them. |
