A very valuable member of the team/squad, don't be too quick to write him off, in the depths of mid-winter when battling away for results the sort of player we need to shore up the midfield. We do though now have a lot of options, which is a good thing. |

I do like Harvey Vale in our starting line up, growing in confidence game by game. Can also deliver a wicked corner. Linked up brilliantly with Burrell down the right side in the 1st half. |
 | Forum Reply | Rumarn The Bolt Burrell at 22:28 13 Sep 2025
Been impressed with him since he came on as a sub against Preston, works hard and today definitely man of the match. Think him and Kone can build a great partnership. Also Vale looking good as well. |

Much more direct from England, this could be a launchpad for the Tuchel era, although he and his team will really be judged on how far they progress in next year's World Cup. [Post edited 10 Sep 9:34]

Supertramp's Rick Davies has passed away at the age of 81. Some brilliant songs alongside Roger Hodgson in those classic 70s albums from Crime of the Century to Breakfast in America. |
 | Forum Reply | Taylor Richards gone…thank god. at 13:21 2 Sep 2025
All too good to be true with Richards when we signed him 3 years ago from Brighton on a loan and option to buy at £700k or something like that, let's face it Brighton were selling players for millions and to let a prospect go for peanuts really should have set alarm bells ringing, but then again it was at the time we were gaslighted by Mr Beale. |
 | Forum Reply | 3G artificial pitches at 12:40 2 Sep 2025
I must admit I play twice a week on a fantastic 3G pitch at Moulton FC and in the Northamptonshire Walking Football League on another great 3G pitch in Wellingborough. I'm 61 and to be honest playing on these pitches is superb as opposed to grass pitches, less chance of injury hopefully, although have played on Northampton Town's grass pitch this summer and that was pretty good. Some good recommendations on this post especially about washing hands after playing. |

Still early days for Julien, for me the jury's out until we see how he builds momentum from getting that first win. Made totally the right changes yesterday bringing in all the players he did. Probably his biggest challenge is getting Loftus Road to be a very hard place to get a result, something that basically has been missing from every manager since we came back to the Championship. Positively think we have a better squad than in previous seasons, if we had lost yesterday it might have been the start of the end of his short tenure. But he now has a reset and needs to push the team and us forward. |

Proper striker that is all we need to say, something we have been missing for years. |
 | Forum Reply | Playing Walsh after the 7-1 defeat at 14:10 31 Aug 2025
Yes disappointing the Nardi chants as this will not do Walsh's confidence much good. Would prefer Nardi as 1st choice as Walsh was struggling with his distribution yesterday and does look nervous, thought he was caught out on Charlton's goal with his positioning, but maybe a win under our belt may help him. |
 | Forum Reply | Kone v Kelman at 14:04 31 Aug 2025
Pleased we let Kelman go, as Kone is a real upgrade, physical and can play. We could well have a diamond in Mr Kone. I also like Burrell he is fast and a good presser. Think him and Mr Kone are going to cause defences a lot of problems this season. |

Important win today, something to build on, only thing is that Walsh needs replacing, get Nardi back in goal. |

Great stuff Clive, I take my seat tomorrow wondering what will unfold in front of me and it's been like that for far too long, especially at home. |
 | Forum Reply | Rest of the Championship thread 25/26 at 15:37 28 Aug 2025
The worrying thing is will our bloke have our lot fired up, if we go all passive like we tend to after about 20 mins at home, Jones and his lot will have a field day. Stephan may just be a bit too nice for the Championship and English football in general and if the team does not go at it on Saturday maybe more trouble ahead. Got to send the team out to win the game not to try and not lose, been a problem at home for a long while now and that is why Loftus Road has been seen as a bit soft, when it used to be a hard place to come for a win. |
 | Forum Reply | In Advanced Talks With Edwards at 15:04 28 Aug 2025
Absolutely, simple facts are transitioning from defence to the forward line as quickly as possible, routing through central midfield. We look slow ponderous and sloppy, our opposition in most games seem to control the central midfield and play it out fast and accurately, we ponder with the left to right at the back and allow teams to easily get numbers behind the ball and draw mistakes from us. Many times I watch it at every home game the gaps in our central midfield which are exposed by teams able to pass through it basically. Is Edwards the answer I don't know, we basically have been lacking in our midfield a player of the calibre of say a Bannen, Howson or Grimes who can swiftly move the ball from the defence to attack and at the same time fill that central midfield void. |

Passion, pressure and belief just shows what you can achieve, well done Grimsby. Man Utd really have become a basket case club, throwing very expensive mud at the wall and hoping it sticks. |
