They've scored four in 10 and lost five of them including their last two. They'll want to get over the line in any way that they can. No point trying to finish fifth and end up coming eighth. They're going to be just as tight and nervous as us. |

Maybe you should get some. The most negative poster we've had on here in years. I really hope it is but I doubt it will be and I'm sure you'll continue to post the same stuff you've posted about 20 times previously. |

Feeling nervous already and kick off is nearly eight hours away still. If we were in Sutton's position right now we'd all think we're dead and buried, apart from maybe Durham, but even in the relatively strong position we're in we still think we might contrive to mess it up. Can't Doncaster just let us have a point and then go and beat Gillingham on Saturday? If it goes to the Crewe game there are going to be two very nervy teams on display. |

I see it a little differently. 71 points guarantees a playoff spot and I'm not sure anyone is going to go chasing goals at the risk of conceding. If either Doncaster or Crewe go 1-0 ahead I can't see them pushing for a second goal and in a way we might not push for an equaliser either. What happens on Saturday depends on what happens on Tuesday but I expect Tuesday to be cagey game and I expect whoever scores first to try to sit on that lead. If we lose on Tuesday then Saturday could be one of those strange games where a point is all both teams require and neither team might be willing to go after the win. I'm not sure whether the above is more in belief, hope or desperation. I just want us to secure our League Two status and for this season to be over now to be honest. |

Only the second time this season we've won two consecutive matches and the last time it happened we went on to make it three. That sequence also started with a 3-2 win away from home. |

Completely agree with this. I thought we were good value for the win on Tuesday night. Probably should've been two or three up at half time and had to weather a bit of a storm in the second half but deserved the win, topped by a sublime finish by Big John. I thought Hopper and Fevrier were both decent on the night and that was one of the best games I've seen Akinde have for us. Mingi looks a totally different player now. Strong, confident and assured on the ball. Also thought Dallison had a good game with some great blocks, his sending off was unfortunate as he went for the ball but was late. Could be his last action in a Col U shirt which is a bit sad. |
| Forum Thread | Which League Two clubs have impressed you this season? at 10:04 19 Apr 2024
As we come to the end of the season and with the three automatic promotion places decided as well as one of the relegation spots I was wondering which teams have impressed you this season? As mentioned on a different thread there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between the top and the bottom of the division and a lot of it comes down to confidence, belief and momentum. Also don't think there's a great deal of difference between the majority of League One, the top half of the National League and League Two either. I haven't been to that many league games this season, just five and all at home, but by far the best team I've seen is Wimbledon. |

Ha Ha! That was a wonderful moment, not for Mr Cowling though who once again struggled to deal with any kind of negativity or criticism. The guy came forward on Facebook last night, he still seems pretty miffed about it. |

Since Danny and Nicky took over in January only one team has lost less games in League Two than Col U, Stockport. We may only be 16th in the form table in that time but we were probably 24th when they took over so a significant improvement. We're conceding a lot less goals than we were previously whilst scoring at a similar rate. Also, I feel like we've been in every game we've played. In the four defeats we've had only one is by more than one goal and that was in stoppage time and you could argue that we should've got something from both Wrexham and Stockport and we definitely should've got something from the Harrogate game. Three of our defeats have been against teams in the top 6 (1st, 3rd and 6th) so we're really aren't that far off being competitive in this division. Admittedly we didn't go from losing games to winning games, like say Salford did, but you have to remember Salford are a team that were in the play offs last season and we're in our fourth relegation battle. It's going to be a slow and steady rebuilding job but we are definitely on the right track and I'm feeling optimistic about having a much better season next season. [Post edited 19 Apr 9:38]
