Are kids better off these days
at 21:01 11 Aug 2025

They'll be better off blaming their parents, it's the 25-35's who are mostly in the snowflake camp. They need safe places because words hurt so much, we're not allowed to insult people, it makes them cry.

Besides, most of the damage is being down by the rich and powerful and their political mates.

Apart from the second paragraph where you actually have a point the rest of it is pure BS.

You've just fallen for the Wrecsam PR guff.

If anyone on this forum is a diva it's you mate. You prance around berating swansea fans and our club while claiming to be a Swansea fan. You have been bigging up Wrecsam so do me a favour, go and join their board, I'm sure they'd welcome you with open arms.

I'm not an Anglo, I'm Welsh and British, this English nonsense you constantly use to deride us on here, it's become like the rist, an obsession.

I heard something quite funny yesterday, it was Forest fan calling a Derby fan a Sheep botherer. In return the Derby fan called them tricky trees whatever that means. Full on banter. Some of us to far too ready to be insulted instead of laughing it off. No wonder Res doesn' go to games, he wouldn't last 10 minutes.

Wrexham our biggest rival....

Early this season
at 20:42 11 Aug 2025

That's just nonsense too though, i'm not in the positive all knowing gang, I say it as I see it and yes the game was poor and all of us who travelled hoped for much better.

The bog difference is we're not all getting ready to throw the baby out with the bathwater after just ONE league game.

We had a rubbish start under Molby and made the play off final, we lost our first away game to Hull the season we got promoted to the EPl didn't we?

One poor game doesn't define the whole season. Gawd, lasyt season people were clamouring to give Sheehan the job full time because he did so well and now some of those people seem ready to sack him after ONE league game.

It's absolutely NOT bizarre to say give it 10 games then see where we are. What are the other choices, sack Sheehan now and then what?
We're still looking to bring 2 players in AND get other players to full fitness. It's bizarre to me that people are already having a meltdown.

Yates didn't fit here and Sheehan didn't want him or Mykola Kukharevich.

Parker is promising but Lissah and Wilson? Not seen enough of them yet but we have to trust the coaches on them.

Why do you feel entitled to speam for "most Welsh people" and make claims about hat they want? How do you know you are right?

Swansea are battling to finish as high up the table as possible, not to just finish above Wrexham.

To hell with Wrexham, I care not a jot about them. They are another opposition team that we will be trying to beat, no more and no less.

I just got back from Boro and it has to be said, some people on here would have said the Titanic was going to sink before it kleft the harbour!

I'm not saying it was good, it was clearly bang average at best but it was the first game, we do have players trying to reach full fitness after getting injred in pre-season and obviously we need a better striker than Vipotnik but lets be fair, the squad was well short, it had been run down over several seasonns and getting in the required quality and assimilating them is not a quick job.
Cabango was ony 80% fit at best and weren't Eon and Ronald doubtful fot the KO too?

Therre's way too much panicking going on. Ten games in, then we'll know if we're any good or not.

To be fair, we can't force clubs to sell to us, we can't force players to sign for us and we can't force players to stay here either.

Then we can't help injuries, we have no control over any illnesses or accidents.

The current ownerd are a big improvement on the last lot but they have a lot of ground to catch up on and with PSR they have to be careful.

I'll be at Boro tomorrow too, and my son. Leaving at 5.30 with a mate.

There will be more reasons but for me one of the big reasons is that so many people have stopped voting while the Labour voters still turn out. We have a Welsh Labour government that has felt untouchable. As such they have done AND continue to do whatever they please.

They have beomce arrogant, Drakeford in particular seems convinced he knows better, he's behaving like the Uncle Joe type who has complete power and does whatever he wants. Drakeford has been critical of anybody who questions him and the soft, friendly persona has often turned into an angry old man who berates the oppo.

The 20 mph thing, not a bad idea but awful planning and implementation meant it cost millions more than it should have.
The PFI (not what the Senedd calls it but it's the same thing) used for the new Velindre hospital and the HOTV roads improvement will cost a lot more because of the interest and Wales will still be paying for it after Drakeford is dead.
The pulling of the M4 relief is bad for SW Wales, the cutting of A&E's and hospital beds is literally killing people.
The increase in the MS's numbers is a waste of more millions over the years ahead. Then Welsh Labour go and change the voting rules which is a blatant benefit to them as we know young people are far more likley to vote Labour.

It's not that Welsh people are incapable but the best of them are in Westminster, here in Wales we have gotten the dross and the change in selection criteria means we will have to now vote for the party and they will decide who represents us which to myself is an affront to representative democracy. Welsh Labour have entrenched their position but still look likely to be heavily rejected at the next vote, that is a sign of how bad they are when they tilt the playing field in their favour and still lose.

If by some muracle they win then Wales is knackered. Well all prts of Wales that aren't in the South East corner are, they are already mind.

I have communicated with Rhun Ap Iorwerth and he accepts the imbalance and he said he intends to change things there.

To be honest for the Senedd to survive we need a new party in power and I think they need to move the Senedd out of Cardiff, put it in Starat Florida in my book, somewhere totally neutral and start again. I know that would be expensive but Wales needs a reset.

Are you Kilkenny in disguise? 1000 years ago the Welsh tribes were busy fighting amongst themselves to try and get power, Wales was a rural "small community" world with no towns but lots of infighting. The house of Gwynedd evertually came out on top but, and this is where your knowledge shows it's gaps, Wales was not a united country, it didn't fight anything, it fought amongst itself.

Did you mean "abolitionists"?

The FAW and WRU were here long before the Senedd, your claim they would be gone too is absurd.

Uk Labour and Welsh Labour are not the same, that is clear to see.

Nobody loves leaders who do a rubbish job.

I'm not sure worldy people get as upset as you do about football banter or "owning" the insults. Wirldy people are strong enough to laugh at such stupidity, or can ignore it and don't bleat at every little perceived slight.

Probity in government - optics still not great
at 17:15 7 Aug 2025

I take your points and don't totally disagree but there is one thing, you don't need to have great qualifucations to have common sense and be honest. To me that is a big marker, so mnay people go into politics because they think they can get away with all this greedy, self serving stiff but they are increasingly being caught and outed.

Is honesty and common sense to much to ask for, clearly it is.

Good post. I agree the rules are retrictive and unfair, in the normal world of work anyway. If a court would laugh then I'd have to ask why it hasn't been challenged?

We all remember the Bosman ruling, if it is so easy to challenge these rules, given Bosman, why hasnt it been done?

I've said several times the Wrexham showboat will sink one day. The stateside fans will find something more interesting to watch, maybe Birminghams Brady bunch? When the commercial well starts to run dry then the spending will have to be cut and the johnny come lately, plastic fans will walk away too.

Looking for and getting are 2 different things. The owners can have the right intentions but still be outbid or find out a player just doesn't fancu Swansea.

I am settling for hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, the worst being not getting a decent striker.

From another angle, what if Vipotnik actually came good!

Maybe if you quit a contract without good reason the club could challenge it in court?

Just being unhappy or knowing someone else will pay you more isn't a valid reason to quit a fixed term contract...we need a lawyer!

You are right but what I meant was, if the Welsh people voted strongly that they wanted to not just keep theSenedd but also wanted more powers then Westminster should be obliged to follow the democratic mandate.

We should have the same powers as Scotland for example and have control of Welsh crown estate profits, It would benefit Wales but then, the Westminster goons would probably cut Welsh central funding and make us no better off.

My problem with the Senedd isn't that we can't govern ourselves, it's just that for 25 years We;sh labour have done a very bad job and if we are going to have a choice in the matter, then all choices should be available. It's the democratic way, do not deny a choice because the governing body is scared they'll have their gravy train taken away.

Maybe when labour are removed things will improve.
