I'm 58. I'm not saying there weren't bad times but we had peaks and troughs whereas today we seem to be on a constant downward slope. Apathy happened because our pokiticians became so bad, in every sense of the word. I often call politicians self serving, greedy, corrupt, negligent.... |

I don't really think that's true. Companies did exist before the stock market. Stock markets have been a vehicle for moving vast amounts of wealth to the already wealthy. The first stock market started in 1602. The richest people back then were monarchies. Now the richest are corporations who hover up wealth and shares are no longer traded purely as an investment vehicle, they are issued in pay deals to billionaires and board members. When shares come up for sale, why are the vast majority not sold to ordinary people? Why do so many go to "institutions? which is just a word for corporate greed where the rich get the maximum benefit. |

Royal Mail has been in a downward spiral for years now. Even since Leighton and Crozier were put in place and the government refused to allow them to make necessary changes like changing the strict 6 day delivery to every house rule because there aren't enough letters being posted for that to be viable anymore. Either move with the times or stagnate and die, RM is doing the latter and the Union aren't helping. |

Given uo debating with me then? Go on, answer my question.... How are the Turks relevant to us? Violent, forced assimilation is always bad, democratic assimilation, ie by the choice of the people is just the will of the people. Putin is wrong. The Senedd and its latest changes have shown to be undemocratic. Wales needs a government that looks after ALL of Wales, that invests in its own country with wisdom not in vanglorious stupidity. Our FM is deluded if she is proud of the last 26 years. |

Sorry to burst that bubble but reddish hair and freckles is more Scottish or irish than Welsh. An aptitude for rugby and singing....it's hard to take that seriously as a claim to Welshness. Yes our DNA differs just like DNA across Europe differs. We have much more in common with our British neighbours than we do differences because of nearly 900 years of shared culture. How does the Senedd vindicate our history and culture, that's a bizarre thing to say. Justify that comment, explain it if you can. That video mentioned the tribes of Wales, theose tribes spent centuries fighting each other, it's part of the reason Longshanks beat us. Ther was no democracy, kings ruled and religion, the Druids.Welsh culture today is nothing like it was 1000 years ago, we are a very different people becaue culture evolves. Geta DNA test, see where your true roots are. |

CWL loses millions every year, £7 per passenger in fact, it's not a coincidence, it shows that what you descibe is the Senedd paying off CWL's debts. So you disagree with how people voted so feck them? Not a democrat then. Ineos went to Germany because they got a better offer, it's that simple and Jim Ratcliffe said as much. We od get what we vote for and we're not blaming anybody else OR Uganda, we are blaming the Senedd. You're just being ridiculous as usual. Next bit....nonsense. Last bit, how is it isolationist? Can you explain what you think that means? Not the word, the sentence. [Post edited 14 Jul 21:09]

I suggested something similar earluer in the thread, small bysinesses pay one minimum wage and stagger the rises with the biggest companies paying the highest "minimum" If the big boys don't like it they can bog off and I'm sure British companies will rise and take their places. Burger King and Maccy D to start with, dead easy to replace and I'm sure someone could do better quality food too. |

I agree, at a push 3 regions if they can put one up North but tput the old clubs back in We.sh system and put the regions in the English system. Best of both worlds. The regions can "draft" players from the clubs. |

Because its Welsh. The Westminster government is shit, whoever is in there. It's not helped by the stupid devolved governments behaving as if we are all unrealted, there is no Britain really, if there was they'd have looked after Port Talbot too. Attitudes really need to change or we are screwed. |

Those things he said are true though, I remember them too. Where I disagree is the last line, I don't want to pay more for less, O want to pay more so things improve BUT things can only improve if we have a competent government. |

When you say Turkish health services ate insurance based... https://eurohealthobservatory.who.int/countries/turkiye And from that... Türkiye’s universal General Health Insurance Scheme was introduced in 2006. All residents registered with the Social Security Institution (SSI), which acts as the single payer in the system, are entitled to free health care from a comprehensive benefits package, with some cost-sharing. Free health care eh, it'll never catch on |

TFL receives grants, yes. it is an essential business though, public transport is an essential need in this country. Subsidisng flights abroad isn't. The Senedd sunsidises trains in Wales too and we don't attack that (apart from criticisng it being Cardiff centric) or subsidies to other UK public transport. Bristol airport sees what cardiff gets as unfair competition, if we were still in the EU they wouldn't be allowed to own and subsidise CWL. That third paragraph, CWL doesn't operate air taxis, that is just irrelevant waffle. It's not about a fight but then, we are fighting to stop wasting Welsh money, you are fighting to throw good money after bad. Wales has given thousands of jobs away because of Breit you say, well in 2015 unemployment was 6'5%, this year it is 3.5%. We seem to have gained jobs. |

I can agree to disagree but it doesn't change the situation, if we don't try to sort things out now and accept 20 years or more to get even close to financial stability then we will really screw the world up for our descendants. I entirely understand people not wanting to pay more tax, hell I don't BUT my son and his kids will pay the price if we don't. The hardest part is getting a government competent enough to fix things! |

Benefits reforms need to happen, first of all the minimum wage needs to rise to get people off universal credit. That would need to be a staged rise, small companies/businesses being made to give a smaller raise but the biggest companies being told to pay more, their profits can take it and they hide the money anway to avoid tax. A minimum wage by size of business, is that do-able? Even then there is still a large black hole, what Reform promises is just way above what they could deliver without making a bigger mess of the country's finances than the last 50 years has done. I've seen Max's reaction to the idea of raising taxes but if Reform came in they'd have to raise taxes to help fund this and it would still take years. what are the odds of Reform taking over government with a majority? Not very good I'd say and without that majority, would they ever get the changes through? |

Hence my suggestion to set up centres in Europe and anyone seeking asylum in the Uk starts there. Also, illegal is crossing the channel in small boats to try and avoid authorities so tell them to use normal transport and claim asylum at the ports and airports, that means opening up places there too. Cross the channel in a small boat, avoid the authoities and you lose your right to claim asylum in the UK. |

The answer, at least partly, is investment but that needs more money and we shouldn't be borrowing it. When Blair became PM the ebt was around 43% of GDP but had been falling. Then he and Brown started spending which raised the deficit which in turn meant more borrowing. In 2011 the debt was at 952 billion, up from 352 billion in 1997. it's fine to be in debt when it's manageable. The debt we have today is beyond manageable. It's a drag on the economy, not just the Uk but the worldwide economy as the majority of countries are in heavy debt. We can do something about it or wait until the problem causes a collapse. It's that simple. I don't wanyt my sons life to be blighted by a collapse that will make 2007 look like owing a mate a fiver. |

OK, after speaking to a lawyer friend, have you any links to this data you say there's lots of? He's calling you on it because he says there isn't data from jury rooms, the jury room is sacrosanct, whatos said in there is a secret. |

The trans thing, when Plaid say that then attribute it to them. The taxes, we have a deficit and a rising debt pile, the options are limited. We have to cut spending or riase taxes, otherwise that means more borrowing which only makes the problem worse. The weight needs to be spread out, everyone needs to contribute, the richest can afford to pay a bit more. The top 1% have 95% of the worlds wealth, that is just wrong. https://www.oxfam.org.uk/media/press-releases/worlds-top-1-own-more-wealth-than- |
