Point taken Gary, but I am referring to the usual suspects - You know who I mean - And the ones who have been 'planted here' - Sadly a reflection on all social media. I don't want people saying 'Hurrah everything is great', but credit players/coach when things are in a positive situation Anyway, that's just my personal view |

I haven't read through other threads on this board because most of it is rant rant rant and its same old posters out of the woodwork when we are doing badly that we never hear from when we are playing well. But when DaveB posts (rain or shine) - its always constructive as the opening post is. Last nights whole game, not just the first half was unacceptable and I'll be honest I switched off on 60 mins. I consider myself one of the more positive posters (either that or delusional or both) but even I am now getting nervous - especially when I am receiving mocking texts from Charlton supporters I know. So I'll give my take from players upwards. There are players out there, so low on confidence its untrue always reflective with a young squad. Some need taking out of the firing line and given a rest because its not just confidence some are just worn out. Saito, Kone, Walsh, and even Dunne all need a spell out but we just have no one adequate to replace them. We have players like Varane, JCS all coming back from injury and in truth not up to speed with the game. This in turn is causing others to be under pressure too and its just continuous The manager: I just don't think he is the problem really. If he had a full squad to pick from I am sure he would have done a lot of things differently. He just isn't getting the support from above - And I dont blame him for loaning Sam Field, I think that blame lays above him. Nourry/Hoos/Williams: For me, this is where the issues are, especially Williams and Nourry. They are the cancer of this club currently, and quite simply need to go. I don't take any notice of the alleged ITK the people on here who again only pop up when things are going badly - Its obvious to everyone that those two are the issue and at least one of them have to go in the Summer. Our owners: Simply put, we need them, BUT we need them to be on the ball and see what is happening here because as has been said over the last few weeks we are clearly in a bad way and something needs to change. I know people wont agree with everything I have written, but from feeling really positive, I am now so fed up I just wish we would fall over the 52 point line and I can relax and enjoy the cricket season and look forward to the beginning of August with the blind optimism that I have every year. |

Brutal taking the keeper off after 15 minutes too because you are 3-0 down |

Correct And I also think management are too belligerent to make any changes and the lack of runs at the top of the order will cost us any chance anyway |

Banton is automatic choice Have Jacks open and for those that dont think that Jos should be dropped move him down the order. Jacks has really shone this tournament so get him up the order. Or use Banton in to open as he also does for Somerset. Lets face it, Somerset are one of the best T20 county sides, so use these players in their right positions. |

I've been reading through all these threads that are like someone has died and finally found a sensible post. Taken me best part of the day!! Well done Jez I watched last night and was like everyone else, disappointed but I knew if I came onto this board last night there would be so much irrational tripe posted as people let off steam. Some is sensible, but some is just knee jerk (or people who only come here when we lose). We don't become a terrible side over one game. People have said he should have rested players but we know how he gets crucified for that. We are too defensive away from home, he gets crucified for that he cannot really win. Hopefully we will bounce back on Saturday, get 6 points for a 3 game week and move on. I know I am considered one of the more optimistic supporters with glass half full (or delusional, or both) but anyone who says those players don't care need to cast their minds back to the likes of Boswinga, who ran off laughing when we got relegated from the prem. They are the sort of players that don't care. And so does the manager too and give him time he'll get there - Lets focus on getting an improvement on previous seasons and push on from there A lot of the players last night looked understandably cattled and I think the only thing people all agree on is what in my opinion is the cancer of this club... Ben Williams. I'm not going to say anymore because there is plenty of discussion about that already on various posts. |
