Stay at the Holiday Inn close to the O2. 472 & 161 bus ride to/from the ground then you get the benefits of the bars and restaurants at the O2 in the evening

Retiring from football

Reading your post about the marathons has struck a chord here. As you may (or may not) remember my better half runs marathons and like you really enjoys it (mostly)

She has been out injured for 2 months now and unable to run at all and is really struggling not just physically but mentally as well. To have something you enjoy doing taken away from you (in her case albeit we hope temporarily) must be a real struggle and some of us will likely be unable to comprehend. I cannot imagine her never being able to run, so feel your pain.

The irony of the starter of the post you mention has played the victim on this very post

I agree with your post though, I remember once using the word 'hate' and being told what a strong word it was... Only as I get older does that fully sink in

Gaffer on today's defeat
at 12:14 2 Jan 2026

In my opinion Mart - The definition of Bedwetting, or shitting the bed is people who suggest we're getting relegated and the board should be looking to sack the manager. I have seen both comments on this very board after our last 3 games

Fully agree, gripe away after yesterday. I watched the full match and people on the match thread were saying we were ok in the first half, and I was like 'I must be watching a different game' because I thought we were shocking in both halves.

I disagree about the Away games bit as until recently we had the best away record in the whole of the football league (definitely not now though!!)

I also think Stephan is given a list by the fitness/medical team of who is available and he has to select from that, and as we know nowadays a lot of that is data driven. I once read that players are given a questionnaire to complete and that is fed into a computer to decide whether or not they are fit enough to play - I read it on a cricket forum I believe from someone involved in Cricket Australia - And whilst they are two different sports ultimately I guess the fitness coaches adapt these things. So maybe workload/tiredness is something that he has his hands tied on

A balanced view without the bile because I have dared to disagree with you unlike someone else... Thank you...

But lets see how we bounce back from this over the coming months. A lot of game time ahead - Fingers crossed your glass begins to feel half full at the end of it, because we can string results together, that has been proven so lets see if we can do it again. We are not far from safety and its only January, lets concentrate on that and go from there.

We're all p**sed off LB but that is harsh

To suggest the manager is clueless is way off and I dont think the recruitment (based on our budget) has been that poor although we still need a few additions this month.

On the squad we have we are a Top 10 side, but this is a very poor spell. Every side has them and go through it and out the other side and we will too

Look at Middlesborough - Since beating us, they are L3 D1 - Sure they will recover as will we. Dont sink to the level of Stainrods E - You normally post better than that

Blimey, we've had it if its a starting 9

And someone else said musical chairs for goalkeepers but Hamer was poor on against WBA so he's dropped, good to see the manager is prepared to make those decisions

Apart from Dembele and Cook (Rather see Poku and JCS) thats a solid starting line up

I know there will many against Nardi too but still think he's a better option than Hamer for me
