Field is still a mystifying one. Been an ever present till this season, reliable, hardly ever injured. But he's been thrown under the bus so that Varane can display his talents (ahem) and now that he's injured, the older Hayden has been preferred as his replacement. While Field fills in occasionally at left back with mixed results. So what was the point of the big contract extension?
Really can't tell if this is a Stephan choice or a directive from Boy King Nourry.

Yes I saw that mentioned somewhere else too.
I really don't know why they didn't go back to three subs, which seemed to work fine. But players probably prefer it because it increases their chance of getting game time, even if it er, means it increases their chance of getting injured.

An odd one - unless there's a plan to cash in. But he's always looked a solid defender to me.
