We keep saying they should so all these things, but we know that they won't.
Only upside of all this is assuming we lose the series (badly?) then heads will roll and maybe we'll have a new setup that takes red ball cricket seriously again. |

Yes I appreciate sport/cricket is ultimately a form of entertainment, but professionals do get paid to win. This current England team just seems to have gone too far over to the former, and if they think it's about taking pressure off the players well it's clearly not working. Fine if you think you can treat every match the same, but the Ashes does have an extra level of importance and history.
They might realise this by the 3rd Test but I doubt it, in any case it will be too late. |

We'd be fkd without Root.
A lot of our players seem to have been brainwashed into thinking Tests can't last four or five days. Hardly any of them grasp the concept of time in the middle. I mean Jacks looked to be getting in, thrashed at a wide one and missed. Followed up by exactly the same ball, same shot, edged to slip. Just so dumb.
Anyway some good wagging at the end from Archer, somehow England have batted a full day. |

Only kidding! Matt Doran, now there is an internet personality I really miss 
I think Varane does have many useful facets to his game, even shooting from distance (see his goal at Leicester in the Cup) but for whatever reason he struggles to bring them all to the fore. |

Won't make much difference as we're crap at day/night, pink ball cricket.
Has been discussed why an Ashes series needs one when grounds will sell out anyway; works nicely in the home side's favour. |
