13th man get behind the Team
at 14:04 22 Feb 2014

I thought it had been a while since we had one of these threads..Hill really just needs to concentrate on the football, not continuously give attention to the handful of idiots who would moan if we were 10 points clear at the top, certain folk will always find something to have a pop at. I didn't see hardly any of his interviews at Barnsley, but was he this frequent in his scathing of the fans for lack of 'patience' and 'understanding'. I love the man for what he has brought to the club, but he needs to let this go, its becoming tedious to even the most imperturbable of supporters.

I get what the OP is saying, so many times we are not anticipating the flick on from Vincenti, he wins so many arial battles, but we don't seem to make the runs.

A truly ridiculous decision, he has done great things at Swansea! Who do they think they are, what is with football recently, he will land a much bigger job easily.

I can't remember us having such an impressive midfield in many a year, options and class throughout.

Not too surprised really, possibly unhappy with his pecking order in the team, not a huge loss imo, that makes two high(ish) wages freed up today.

Taking advice from Hilly about how to play the game, taking advice from Moyes about how to react after losing a game.

Dagnall has left Barnsley by mutual consent
at 14:28 10 Jan 2014

The thing i do remember about Daggers was that he sometimes needed a few chances to score, compared to Alfie, his shot to conversion rate must be that bit lower, this could be a reason he hasn't quite made it as far. I would love if we could get him back, Hogan, Hendo and Daggers is easily a L1/Championship strike trio, add in the likes of Done/Lund we could definitely push a top 3 place this year.

The "gamble" was regarding playing him in a lone striker roll ahead of Hogan, not his ability to score goals, not every striker can play this role.

I am very surprised that he didn't make it at Barnsley, between him and Alfie I always thought he had more about him. I can't recall, but how much success did he have playing the lone striker role in his stay here, he always seemed to play beside another striker, worth a gamble though.

Peterborough bid for Hogan
at 13:23 10 Jan 2014

perhaps the rumoured "stall" was indeed Hogan not wanting to go, but the media twisting it...they do that sometimes.

Big respect for Hogan though, shows that it isn't always about the money, happiness does indeed bring success.

IF Hogan does indeed stay, where would Daggers fit in to the first 11, I would love to have him back but I don't think he will be too happy being a bench player for the majority.

Peterborough bid for Hogan
at 22:25 8 Jan 2014

I'm with Sandylaner1 on this, staggering if true, but not unexpected. The board say they are ambitious, they bring back Hill, back him to the hills with his signings, and once again (if proven true) leave him yet again having to replace one of his best players, in the worst time of the season. These are not the actions of an ambitious club, no matter what they say, the truth is that as soon as someone comes in with the first bid it gets accepted, year in year out.

We can have numerous threads about boosting attendances at the club etc, but at the end of the day, the potential fans will be looking at stories like this and thinking "typical rochdale" and it is these fans who we will lose to other clubs.

this club sometimes is so short sighted they need to go to specsavers...

Totally agree

this is just the usual SSN understands bullshit that happens with almost every player at this time of year.

The lad has only been in the football league for 6 months, and the first "speculation" of a bid, some people are talking like he's already gone, I am sure he knows how good Hill could be for his future career, if he is good enough he will get a move eventually, but jumping ship too soon could set him back. He is not good enough presently for the higher end of League 1 imo, he still needs to improve some aspects of his game, and Hill has an astounding record with strikers, I have no doubt he will be a Dale player come Feb 1st.
