I did the stadium tour a while back and we were shown the executive boxes which overlooked the pitch. All well and good and you'd think it was the ideal venue to wine and dine your clients while watching the match below you.....but no, it's not.
The catch is that some jobsworth has pointed out that it's illegal to drink alcohol while in sight of the pitch, even from behind a glass window. As such, the curtains in the executive boxes are pulled over during the match, to allow the corporate entertainment to continue in the box for those who wish to remain in there after kick-off. The match can be followed by such guests on a TV screen though, but I'm sure that's not the experience they might have hoped for! |

I don't underestimate Cardiff at all. They are unbeaten in the league too, and also enjoyed a handsome win against high profile, Seria A opposition pre-season (4-1 vs Roma). Nevertheless, this is the next in line of a handy set of opening fixtures and we have to make the most of them. We have raised the bar with the quality of football played and the expectations from the manager. I think we'll win, but it will be a close match. 2-1. |

Ewok Park has never been our favourite hunting ground. Our fanbase have too many scars from watching us playing there in poor weather, losing key players to injury and matches by the odd goal. It's nearly as bad as facing a trip to the City Ground.
From my weather app, the monsoon season appears to have begun in Lancashire. I just hope we escape with a result and nobody gets crocked in the forecasted conditions, but I can't shake that nagging feeling that we'll lose 1-0, again. |

Another question that has to be addressed is whether the EFL formally approved the transfer of the shares in June to a new entity, essentially creating a new owner of the club.
I hope the EFL will take the view that this sharp practice is not good for the game's reputation, ie leaving the seller of the shares in the club in the lurch. I would hope that they react in a manner which would be a warning to anyone thinking about using this scenario as a template to avoid paying what you owe to a previous owner, that there would be very serious consequences for you and the club. |

So how much did 1919 Partners LLC pay CSBL for the shares in Sheffield Utd last June? Bear in mind that CSBL had bought the club for Stg100m in 2024.
If nothing approaching that value was the consideration in the transfer then, noting the possible common ownership of the two entities, I suspect a case might be made that the exercise was a ploy to put the assets of CSBL, being the shares in the club, out of the reach of its creditors. That transaction could be reversed by the Courts. It's a very interesting case for the Liquidator and Courts to review. |

I responded saying that I wouldn't back us to win the league at that price, but understood why the bookies reacted like that.  |
