Gatwick is also super easy for Shepherds Bush. Half an hour into Clapham then a short train from there.
If you want something as cheap as possible I’ve used the Comfotel GRN hotel before when we’ve had a night game and I’m in London early the next day. Glamorous it is not but dirt cheap, clean and a short walk from the ground. Close to the tube too.
I think as we’re doing reasonably well it tips the balance in fans’ minds about who was to blame. If we’d gone into it 20th in the league with fans baying for Nourry and the manager which didn’t seem unlikely not long ago I could imagine a very different welcome for him.
But bollocks to him. Last season was mostly crap and, for now, the club’s decision has been vindicated.
Poor as he was, those two in midfield were basically left to do it all on their own. Ayew and Reid were embarrassing for such experienced (and no doubt well-remunerated) players. The wingers had no interest in defending at all.
I think it could have been more of a shellacking second half had the referee not sought to treat it like an under-8s game showing mercy to the losing side. Was happy to be abused by Reid in particular and Ayew could easily have picked up a second yellow for the foul by R block if not his constant whinging. Something has definitely happened there since beating Ipswich and going 2 up at Bristol City even if they weren’t exactly brilliant in either. Interested to see how they get on over the next few weeks as stuff like delaying the staff wages will have ripples. Real fun if they do get a significant points deduction and suddenly are battling it out to avoid relegation. A few of them hoping to get out in January I’m sure but bar Fatawu I can’t see many queuing up to take them.
They’ve misjudged it which I think is understandable given nobody would have thought it would sell at the rate it did. In hindsight they could have done the usual sort of price brackets for the games with higher demand but suspect staff levels at the Box Office next week will be minimal so wanted it mostly done today.
Can guarantee there’ll be plenty of spares going for face value in the week leading up to the game.
Would’ve thought there’s pretty much zero chance the allocation will be increased. They’ll have sold tickets in the blocks either side of the away end.
Not sure what their respective shapes have to do with anything. He won the biggest thing there is to win in his sport aged 17. Nothing against her but I don’t think she was even in the starting XI.
I was there if it was the League Cup defeat. Tevez scored the penalty I think but whoever our goalkeeper was that day kept it far more respectable than it should have been.
I expect with any big away turnout there’ll be far more ‘you’re in my seat’ than normal and also more heavy-handed stewarding in terms of letting people into the right block. Also given we’ve got so many blocks and two tiers it wouldn’t surprise me if there are multiple entrances we have to use based on the ticket.
I’m in the 1pm group. Would be good to know if we can select a tier/block/seat. Could do without being at the back and needing binoculars. I’ve been in their away end about 15 rows up and it’s ok but you’re something 1/4 of a mile away from the far goal in the back row of the upper tier.
