I think you have to appreciate the benifits of hospitality and cooperate sponsorship to clubs. Do you really think major sponsors invest hundreds of thousands into the club and don't expect benifits for their clients. Sometimes you need a basic understanding of finances to realise the importance of these dealings. In the West stand there are some major backers and they are very important to the club, we have multi nationals attending our games and they expect the best.

If the state pension became means tested, I can see people planning for retirement earlier and moving funds out of their name into the name of children ect. This would mean more pensioners could claim pension credit and have no assets for possible nursing home fees. Push too much and you will.get less and it will cost more.

I can see your point of view, but there needs to be allowances. I can never understand why in hospitality you have to close the blinds/curtains when the game is on or take a drink outside to the box. Or when I watch a Cymru Premier match as I sometimes do, I can't finish a halftime drink bought in the clubhouse outside.

So someone gets legal status and can bring family over including parents to claim a pension and pension credit, never having contributed.

Possibly they should have an extra tax on "disposable income" increase the VAT in this sector. The tax the rich to pay for benifits mantra.

I remember Meibion Glyndwr, strike a light for Wales, burn a holiday home. A couple of hundred homes were torched, pure vandalism.

When you started your profession you had an agreed pension, OK it has been tweaked slightly. Imagine if in next months budget you were told that you would need to work 5 years more for the full pension and there were no guaranteed annual increments.

Shall we not mention ladies like my wife who had her retirement age raised without enough time to sensibly reorganise her retirement including her government employee pension.

Or the 1997 Gordon Brown pension raid.
