5 Things About Doncaster
at 14:32 12 Jan 2026

You were lucky you missed out on the drink that we were given that was Guinness with a double shot of port in it.

It was incredible how cheap Doncaster was in general to be fair, don't think i paid over £30 for a round all day

1. Some decent pubs in the center of Doncaster but was surprised how few of their fans were in them, seemed like every pub was full of saints

2. This team are going to be disastrous at Fratton, the mental weakness is visible to all and i genuinely thought Doncaster would nick it towards the end

3. Was surprised how cheap the trains were, my train up from london cost me less than the standard train back home to southampton does

4. Made me chuckle when i overheard from one of the home fans that loads of saints had gone into the club shop before the game and bought them out of billy sharp face masks

5. Wintz childlike excitement at getting to go to THAT pub from the video was hilarious, i think was more excited by that than the prospect of the game

Personally more concerned about the trains than the game, given how sh*t the rail network is i'm hoping they don't cancel trains because of the weather

Some of my family were those that fled under Chavez and Maduro and they're certainly happy Maduro has gone, but they're hardly celebrating right now as they don't know what comes next and they don't see it as a real change of leadership as the party is still in place.

Sadly it's not really a simple solution, or at least Trump hasn't made it one. Because if the legally elected opposition had been put in place instead it would've been considerably better.

But if the New York Times is to be believed that didn't happen because Trump didn't like that she accepted the Nobel peace prize

Because it's pretty unlikely the UK government are going to place sanctions on America, though i'm sure you know that

I've probably got a unique perspective because i actually have family in venezuala and a good friend - from southampton - that lives out there.

The venezualan people aren't celebrating, if you're basing that on videos you've seen on social media those videos are fake.

Most are incredibly cautious about what's happening, maduro (and Chavez) before him were dictators (chavez in all but name) and him being gone is a good thing.

But what's been done is that he's been removed and replaced by his vice president rather that the opposition who legitimately won the election.

Speaking to my family out there they're also incredibly concerned about what america plans to do next, the history of american interventions and replacement of governments in south america is historically disastrous for the people of those countries, and the idea of america running Venezuela could potentially lead to a civil war

I wasn't referring to people who've moved, i'm also one of those, more that so many on this thread weren't born in god's own city

The one thing i find really surprising from this thread is how many on here aren't sotonians.

I'd always, naively it seems, just assumed the majority were from Southampton, but it feels like i'm in the minority going by this

God i hope they take him, he's got to be one of the worst professional footballers i think i've ever seen, his first touch is absolutely shocking, like someone has strapped a brick to his foot, and he seems to have absolutely no positioning or football brain.

It was a genuinely awful signing and i have no idea which one of our statto nerds thought it was a good idea, but whoever it was needs firing.

We don't have TV shows anymore mush we EVENTS, so it should be a full day, with build up, commentary, dress as your favourite dance move and sit infront of the tv with your own score cards.

Some of our fans i'm sure will vlog the occasion to share to their social media channels, i've heard Pat is quite the fan of the rumba and his youtube Pat On Pirouettes (tm) is up there in popularity with freakish alien head Martin and Saint Rob's Public Schoolboy tips channel

Empty seats at norwich

Noticed the same for stoke too, a few blocks greyed out despite being in on the first criteria and before they were "officially" for sale.

Definitely worse/more noticeable this season

Don't be silly that's not what the fans forum is for, it's for questions on hot dogs, beer, explaining FFP, stadium expansion that doesn't need to happen, and the womens team, as well as listing how long you've been a season ticket holder for.

Why would anyone bring up things like ticket allocations, corporate tickets, the way they've destroyed the atmosphere at st mary's and the bubble?

Definitely seems to coincide with the P&O sponsorship and these blocks suddenly appearing at away games.

Not sure anyone can begrudge them some tickets at home games, but a few hundred in a crowd of 32k is barely noticeable, the same number in a crowd of 2k is very obvious and a p*sstake

I wonder if this answers that question?

"This collaboration marks P&O Cruises’ first venture into sports sponsorship and will provide exclusive benefits and experiences to P&O Cruises guests and Southampton FC members and fans. Perks include special cruise offers, match tickets, meet-and-greet events and onboard coaching sessions."

No Bubble For Sunderland / Newcastle Derby
at 17:05 15 Dec 2025

I don't get why people say this about logistics, the last time we played at Fratton it was a night game and they ran a train, it was also probably the least intimidating atmosphere i've ever experienced going there and the police had it totally wrapped up.

There is absolutely no logistical issue with letting people go by train, goldsmith avenue is literally a direct road to Fratton from the station and it's easy to police.

I actually think it's the other way round that's harder, getting the skates from central to the new away end without them getting ambushed or significant trouble would've been a nightmare.

You're options all include going through a park with no cctv, shutting down a shopping district of the city, sending them through the pinch points in st mary's, or getting them over the bridge into the caged off walkway alongside the kingsland

From what i understand the police weren't pushing for a bubble in our game, it was the club and fan advisory boards that wanted it.

Skates away ticket details announced
at 14:27 12 Dec 2025

i think we all expect it to an extent but this season it feels like the percentage being given away is much higher than it has been, and for a number of games we've seen blocks effectively left empty when match going fans wanted tickets.

The game against the skates was always going to be one everyone wanted to go to, and the anger here will be that people are "jumping the queue", which to be honest i tend to agree with.

In my opinion it's about fairness, and if someone misses out on say 13 aways to a corporate who's done none that is completely wrong for me.

Maybe the club should have some "crown jewels" games where these corporate tickets aren't allowed, games like this, or games with extremely small allocations
