We are in there with a shout......a lot more matches to go, a lot of points to pick up. MC certainly thinks we can.

Subs last night....
at 18:11 5 Feb 2025

Well, I thought on 66 minutes that Frey had run out of steam, we had been doing OKish and I would of replaced him with Lloyd, not Kolli because he would have been bullied by their big defenders. Lloyd challenged well, worked hard, when he came on.....and pressed them when they had the ball Smyth came off and was replaced by the new loanee like he was at Millwall & did well that day so give him another go. He has so much more pace than Kolli. Colback was brought on, not really to score the winner but play football and keep the ball plus moving us forward. Varane was introduced to defend our last third, likewise Fox.

Well played to Mr MC!!!

What, actually, would you have done re replacing players & bringing on subs??...what players, what positions, what instructions to them????

Colback is a big asset to the team...posters keep going on about his disciplinary record - How bad is it, actually, for a combative player?? He keeps the ball and passes the ball as good as any in the team, works hard, positions himself very well and shows up for the ball better than any of the players. Contrary to firm belief he also gets around the pitch. Yee has negatives and makes errors, etc but so do all of the players.

Last night he added to the Team when he came on as sub late in the game.

I would strongly suggest he his 'big' off the pitch as well, MC is a big supporter of his play as far as I can tell.

Teams in the relegation spots 23rd/22nd
at 13:39 5 Feb 2025

Why would we be talking about the bottom 2 clubs?? when we have just beaten a decent Blackburn side who sit 5th in the Championship!!!!! and only 3/4 points away from the top 6.

The question is......have we got enough to get in or near the play-offs.

Nothing special, does OK, scores a few goals, better than Lyndon Dykes, best forward in the Club.......we need better but he is doing alright. Overall, a decent signing.

You are 100% right - It is a tough call for MC......Edwards is the much better player but Morrison is 'ours' & has played decent and needs game exposure. However, MC is a winner and so he picks his strongest team plus we are not out of getting further up the league so perhaps MC thoughts were all about winning & progression.

Kolli & Lloyd both play up front but are very different players........I thought we needed 'big & strong' last night and we got that with Lloyd.

Agreed, proper decent....he has chances to make it in the Premiership and maybe more if he continues to develop.

My worry is how this matter will affect Dunne.....not so sure he really wanted to leave but the 'bright lights' & money took over - money, 'the root of all evil'!!!

Firstly, I am rather surprised he is going & never thought he would depart(???) but I suppose money talks....he certainly is not a Premiership player.

To give him a 5 year contract would be far too long - 5 years is a long time for a footballer. He is not Messi or Ronaldo!! He is a CB playing RB and doing well in a poor Championship League this season....I would suggest he would struggle containing Premiership forwards & attacking midfielders, yes he will win a few tackles (but not much tackling in the PL), yes he will win a few headers, yes he may muscle a few forwards but he will give away free kicks.

Posters go on about QPR & Nourry but we do not know what Dunne is asking for. If it is a 5 year contract then that is OTT and if he is OTT with the contract then what salary & bonuses he is asking? - nobody on this MB knows - I doubt his Team mates even know.

I do not want him to go, never thought he would depart but I am sure his recent form and his agent especially are driving this massive. I would suggest that Nourry would like him to sign new contract but not 5 years (or 4 perhaps) & probably not with his money demands as well.

Lets get it done...and bank a few quid, etc, etc.

Decent company, what decent company???

Man Utd & Burnley didnt want him, Warburton is an average Manager (done nothing basically) although I like him.

He has limited skills for sure despite what you think. His first touch is inconsistent and it needs to improve improve - compare his control to Paal, there is no comparison. Look at Premiership players, miles ahead. It is nothing to do with nationalities either, I do not care if they come from Timbucktoo!!! Dunne is all about 'blood & thrust'.....and it is brilliant for us where we currently stand.

Not interested in Cook but his control of a football is better then Dunne.

Dunne is not a particularly a good player, he lacks a lot of natural ability. His best asset is his attitude towards the game and QPR in particular - it is immense for the Team & Club and the players, he would be massive around the dressing room. He is far from being a Premiership player and imho he will not play much Premiership football - he does not have the necessary talents.

If we get a bid in of around £2 million he will be out of the door. A shame but we would not be able to let that money go when his contract expires soon.

What I hope is the Club sorts it out 'one way or the other' today/tomorrow in order that we can get a decent RB into the Club before deadline (& we should already have players on the list to make bids for!!!). It should not be too difficult to ask Dunne what he wants to sign a new contract and if he doesn't commit or we cannot commit to his demands then he should be sold. Lets just sort it out FFS.

BTW, I really do not want him to leave.....more than any other player.......if he does leave then good luck to him, he is proper and life & work is about choices.

When a player extends his contract he would normally ask for a 'signing on' fee. Not only that but a player once he resigns he does not only get his basic wages paid but normally other bonuses such as appearance money, team points, league position, etc, etc....it can go on. Furthermore, there are other player costs such as food costs, travel costs, general player costs (ie, kit), insurance costs and it goes on.

My view is that he is not good enough and never will be to play the level we want to play at, currently the Championship. We should cut our losses and move on....good luck to him.

Sell him, get him off our payroll. He is not good enough. He is not what we need.
