A report that brings into focus that we are the antithesis of the oft-referred to archetypal 'well-drilled' Championship side - a team lacking in guile and flair but built around effective coaching of players with a core of mid level Championship stalwarts. Such teams will never get promoted, but you'll know you've been in a game with them and you'll have to both work hard and play well to beat them.
I'm sure Stephan knows this - his response was the 0-0 games. But I'm stumped we can't figure out how to master the basics of being a rudimentary Championship team. |

My personal bugbears are persistent, recurrent basic coaching failures.
Last season it was two of ours closing down one of theirs while leaving a nearby opponent free, with predictable results. Last season and this (and probably for years, in fact) it's been failure to challenge at throw-ins as though there's a law against it. At the moment it's giving up early on a competitive ball and just letting the opponent get to it first. This is beginner level stuff that requires little skill, just application. What do they do in training all week? |

Are any of the injured players going to be back this season? You can add Chair to Burrell in the slim chance category, probably Madsen too. Maybe half a chance for Poku and Obikwu, one of whom has contributed nothing and the other next to nothing this season. |

I get it, everybody's hacked off. I am too.
I just think that if people are getting the pitchforks out, we should concentrate on the issues we know to be true, or are very likely to be true. And there are plenty of those, we don't need to speculate. |
