It doesn't matter what the average points are for top 6 finish, the only thing that matters is the current gap and that gap isn't especially great.
The bigger problems are that we have to play more teams at the top than the bottom (and our record against the top teams this season is not good) and that the rapid improvement in our results seems to have plateaued.
Then again, Coventry were below us a few weeks ago, now seventh and a point behind sixth. |

Oft stated but there's no evidence for it. Most likely it's a misapprehension rooted in expectation bias.
Eg, this season we've gained 6 pts in seven games v the top six (.857 ppg) and 20 pts in 10 games v the bottom six (2 ppg). Eight of our wins have been against teams below us and just three from teams above. |

And if you can't enjoy it when your team wins 4-0 scoring two excellent goals and playing well in the process and is now a few points off the top 6 having been bottom before Christmas, well, it's not really about the football, is it. |

New manager bounce may be overstated.. He's still got the same players minus the crocked/departed and has barely had time to say hello.
They got a draw at Norwich and have only let in five goals in the last five games so either way it won't be an easy game. |

I've only ever seen this attributed to a one-time and probably off the cuff remark by Warburton. Happy to be proved wrong, otherwise we should probably acknowledge the repeated decision making over years that's put Kelman a long way down the strikers' pecking order. |
