Super Sunday – Preview
at 09:07 8 Mar 2026

Brilliant preview as ever, Clive - and it all chimed with me.

I'm in the 'young' group at LFW, probably about your age (40 this year) and have found myself rapidly falling out of love with football over the past couple of years. Like you, used to watch any game going, but never watch 90 mins untless it's Rangers, and really pick and choose even the highlights I watch now. I can't imagine actually going to a game where VAR is in use and - sounds like I might have to find out at HQ in the next year or two. Seeing those stats about the amount of time the ball is out of play with Arsenal, on course to win the league, brings home just how little I feel I'm missing out by not watching any full games.

Find myself increasingly like my dad - "Why don't they just leave it alone?!" I know you say you don't like change, but I think that's a human thing, and increasingly true the older we get - but the fact is, there has been so much change to domestic football over the past 10/15 years, and what good has it actually done the game?

Of course, Rangers are giving us plenty to be unhappy about and make us grumpy. It's been done so many times, but I've had enough of this 'performance team' and the contempt for fans shown by lack of/nature of communication. Am teacher training this year, which is quite intense, and trying to play most weekends as well, I don't get down to games as often as I'd like and really have to pick and choose when I go, not there today.... Hope they pull a decent performance out of somewhere today for everyone that's going.

Also, hat tip to QPR Hibs - I've really enjoyed your predictions this season, today's had me chuckling!

Would agree that kind of abuse is uncalled for - but from where I was, Lower Loft, couldn't here that chant at all - where was it coming from?

I could only hear a lot of 'sacked in the morning' and 'Marti, what's the score?'

Am another one firmly in the 'give the guy a chance' camp. We are going to need an alternative to Korea as a focal point when Kone picks up an injury or suspension, or needs a break in a 3-game week. Think our top scorer from a team which most agree didn't create enough last season, deserves the benefit of the doubt for now. As noted above, didn't have a proper pre-season, first game back and not playing his natural position. A second half out of position in a scrappy game does not a write-off make!

Also, know the contract extension raised eyebrows but given how bitter the club seemed about Cook's extension, I think Nourry (and Stéphane) must feel he is going to contribute. His experience, game-smarts and goal threat will all come in handy over the 40 odd games we have left! Let's give the guy some support as he comes back into the Frey

Kone's all round game
at 18:40 20 Sep 2025

Wasn't able to make it today unfortunately, but I remember watching him closely against Charlton and being so impressed with his all-round game, pretty sure that apart from one misplaced pass, he didn't put a foot wrong that day.

Kone MOM?

Another one who really enjoyed Kone's performance.

Apart from one misplaced through ball for ND when he was overlapping, I honestly didn't think he put a foot wrong all game. A great home debut, capped off with a lovely finish (agree with others as well, that Burrell did a brilliant job flicking it on under a lot of pressure from the Charlton centre back).

Family friendly, home and away friendly pub?
at 20:07 27 Aug 2025

Evening all,
Have a Charlton mate and will be meeting up with him, as well as some of his Charlton mates, after the game for a drink (unless Kelman scores the winner, in which case I'll sulk home!), but will also have my 13 year old daughter with me.
Can anyone recommend a good place to try? So far have only thought of the Richmond, back on Shepherds Bush Road

Charlton Line Up

How low is the bar that I'd happily take that right now?

Just desperate for the team to pull itself together and avoid a defeat to be honest - sounds like Charlton are no mugs.

Protesting together
at 08:54 24 Aug 2025

Fair enough.

Totally get that there is a diverse range of opinions on this message board alone.

For me, sending a message to the club was about letting them know that I am very concerned about how a lot of things are being handled on many front - I'm not suggesting 'sack the manager', 'sell the club', not even 'sack Nourry' (happy to admit I'm currently in the Nourry out camp, but I haven't mentioned him by name in my email, not even his role).

Agree that we all want the club to be self-sufficient! However, I am concerned that on the current trajectory, we will be relegated before that happens.

I tend to be very patient - the only managers i have actively wanted to go have been Paul Hart, Mark Hughes and (reluctantly but knowing it was for the best) Gareth Ainsworth.

Appreciate I have probably seen fewer ups and downs than you have, as a slightly younger supporter - and if you are happy to hold fire, fair enough.

I have just had enough of the team looking undercooked (unfit and not assembled right), the fact that some decisions look so odd, and don't seem to do us any favours (e.g. let the Head of Performance work remotely from Dubai and start working for another employer, drop Nardi for Walsh without Walsh having gained enough experience, let Paal go (always available and now we have no senior left back) but renew Frey's contract (always injured)).

These are just examples, and appreciate you might have a different view on those individual cases - but the club's decision-making and its (lack of) communication on things like injuries and fitness, when it is clearly a major issue and stopping us from competing, are doing my head in. Add in that we had no manager for however many weeks it was after putting the previous manager on garden leave, then got one with no championship experience and an undercooked squad, and look where we are. Maybe we'll get better quickly, starting against Charlton, but I am not looking forward to finding out, quite frankly.

You're right that it's 2 defeats and 1 draw - but there is also the cup surrender to Plymouth thrown in, which felt like a PR exercise, and it comes off the back of a pre-season where I thought the writing was already on the wall.

And I certainly won't be invading the pitch any time soon, or encouraging others to do that!
