What an errudite young chap Jake is. If you haven't watched his interview yet it is worth it to see the kinds of lads we have at the club and the kind of culture Jim and co are trying to foster.
Jim was interviewed on Radio Noblot this evening. It was nice to hear him have a few words with Keef. A little teaser from him regarding the pitch, though, wbere he said he expected the pitch to be permanently sorted in a couple of weeks if they can muster everything and "get the backing from the League". If I heard correctly.. Was around about half five if any one has the ability to replay the interview.
Feeble effort was that. We never looked interested from the start. If we hope to use games like that to boost future attendances well I think the opposite might be true. It won't have persuaded the young Manure fans there to change allegiances. But, the stiffs need a meaningful run out from time to time, so, that alone makes me hope we can continue in the competition.
After we had equalised I thought the game could have gone either way. Just a poor way to lose it really but at least it prevented a replay. Similar scenario to the Spennymoor game where neither team wanted to lay a glove on each other during the first half and chucked the game away in the second half after decent substitutions enabled us to claw our way back into contention. Never mind we'll have 'em in the league. Nowt to fear.
I thought we were sure to blow it when 11 mins were added on but we kept calm and carried on. Wish I could say the same. I'm still shaking. Really well crafted 3 points by the sound of things.
I think Jim got the team selection tonight, wrong. If our best starting eleven were fit, why didn't we start with them, instead of chucking them on when the game had gone. Surely it is more logical to try and build a lead then bring the players off to save their legs. We ballsed up at Brackley like this and did it again tonight. Perhaps now we'll learn?
Well Brackley did us aa big favour today: scored an equaliser against Scunthorpe in the 98th minute. Scunny were the only team that could have overtaken us with their games in hand. I notice Carlisle lost to Sutton. We are not doing too bad. UTD
