That is part of it yes. The multiplier is less, which is what the government is claiming, and the discount is going as you say. But the revaluations are cranking up, so the upshot of it is that a lot of pubs are facing a 78 percent rise in business rates. Considering they made a big play of reforming business rates to help pubs and shops is massively bogus |

I'm not sure, if it's conspiracy or cock up, nearly always it's cock up every time. I can't believe Rachel reeves stood up at the budget and said proudly we are reducing business rates and said about a new golden age for hospitality, whilst in the knowledge that the business rates were likely to rise massively. Surely she didn't know that was the reality. It's either a whopper of a lie or incredible incompetence, but surely if she knew she wouldn't have said that, as she would have known she'd be found out pretty soon |

The landlord was featured a bit before the budget on a Facebook group called London pubs saying that costs have gone up by £ 22000 this year and if taxes go up he might have to close next year. Then in the event of the budget the business rates debacle has made it a lot more likely that thousands more pubs will close. They were supposed to be helping the high street and pubs, but are adding many thousands to pubs business rates instead |

I take your point, and I remember bishops Stortford being in that division. But at the moment it's a bit ridiculous for Truro or Torquay to travel to Gateshead or vice versa.
Some of the teams like Fleetwood or Newport only have 75 fans for their long trek away games, and regionalisation would make sense to me |

Well I thought we did get a percentage of his transfer to Arsenal. Either way, very pleased to see him doing well and hopefully will be in the England starting eleven in the world cup |

Unfortunately much as as I would love us to win it , I really can't see it. I think starc and Hazelwood will rattle through our batting line up pretty easily. I do like what stokes and mccullum have done with the team in general though. Before they took over it was something like one win in seventeen tests and dull as dishwater cricket. The home series'against India and the previous ashes were absolutely brilliant to watch. But sadly, while they may be old, the Australian side is still damn good. And if we don't play a spinner that isn't going to work. Not too sure why leach isn't in the squad at least. Hopefully I'm wrong and we can pull off a shock win |

I think there is something to be said for regionalizing from the conference down. Not sure why they've made the first round of the fa cup national either. You could now be a non league team from Kent getting barrow away |
