Funny muted atmosphere at the ground tonight which the game seemed to reflect Kamara is obviously a good player but looked absolutely cooked after an hour, as did Varane, which handed Burnley control of the midfield. And we had nobody to bring on When Smyth also tired after 60 mins (understandable, he must have covered at least twice as many yards as Kone) we had nobody at all left with any pace. Kone was typical Kone on an off day when if he doesn’t score he contributes f all. Edwards gets better all the time and kept trying things, great to see Cirkin and Chair looking fit, and finally a sighting of the lesser-spotted Obikwu who with more composure could have left us all a lot happier Burnley didn’t look all that bad to me, just a team with no confidence, don’t think they’ll do down, certainly seen worse this season (Preston, Derby) Based on our season so far if I was an opposition manager I’d be telling my team if you can keep QPR out for 45 minutes you’re in with a chance because they’re going to fade badly in the second half of games. Keeps happening [Post edited 3 Nov 23:23]

Hull’s promotion and early start was/is remarkable, they looked like a below average Champ outfit every time I saw them last season Soton unfortunately do look quite good this year, but Birmingham performance apart I don’t think we need to be scared of anyone |

Never met Ted or you Charlie but that picture of him and Bale has always stayed with me - just the greatest. Reflected exactly his no nonsense tone on here. And always loved the fact he helped build the Majedski Reading stadium and it made them hate that club forever RIP to one of the best voices on this forum |

Completely agree - he was outstanding today and that was his best game for the club IMO. Kone didn’t need to waste all his energy running around as Smyth had it all in abundance and lo and behold, a Kone left alone to bully centre backs and stay central gets a hat trick and finally looks back on track. Was wonderfully nostalgic seeing a big man/little man at the head of a 4-42 and destroying the opposition |

Be an interesting second half - from what JS has been saying you’d hope he’s hyping them up in there to dish out a proper thrashing as Derby look awful |

Chaos Alfie and Kolli could be quite good I reckon if they’ve got a shaky defence - one to steam around and one to shoot on sight |

I don’t want to derail this thread into conspiracy theories and paranoia, so I apologise for what I’m about to say, but I have several family members in medicine and it’s a known after-effect of COVID that it can potentially cause issues to muscles / joints / ligaments / recovery. NOT the vaccine, Covid the actual infection. Given I imagine everyone in the world including sportsmen have now had the infection at some point, I wonder if this might be a factor. Is Lloyd injured? Would presume so given he was nowhere to be seen |

I think it’s fair to say our subs changed the game (for the worse) Happy with a point after all that! Don’t think we’ll be seeing Lamptey for a while |

Outstanding first half from us - well played lads Adamson continues to impress me this season, for a bit-part youth player he’s turned into a proper terrier at right-back. The Madsen-Kamara-Edwards midfield looks solid as a rock Hopefully Kolli will stop playing them in every now and then |

My West Ham mates reckon Kilman is total pony so not too bad Kolli leading the line hasn’t exactly gone well in the past but he’s got better midfielders around him now, and at least he’ll get a few shots off |
