I hope the actor playing Mozart is better than Tom Hulce! Worth watching for the music alone. |

100% Bobby Gould, at the time the media said that he arrived at QPR with his little black book which listed all of the players that had impressed him. I was at the game but my memory of it is very different. Peacock was superb! He had arrived from Hereford who were two or three divisions below us and he marked the experienced Derby striker, Mick Harford, out of the game. Tilson was poor, I remember he missed a free header with no other players anywhere near him. He only ever played a few dozen games for us before becoming a Bristol Rovers leg end. |

Funny thing is when I watch match highlights from that era now Sheron is working really hard. Just one of those things that happens, it didn't work out for him with us. I would add Karl Ready to this list. |

Sorry, you are right Brian. I saw Clive mentioning 8m and misunderstood. Google AI says it was 2.3 million plus Dowie and Rowlands. |

In the minority I know but I was pleased when he finally left. When he first joined us in 1993 he was a genuine young talent and played very well for us improving all the time. By the time Sir Les rocked up to Loftus Road with Newcastle in 1995 he was on fire, playing superbly, the best player on the pitch that day. He got his first England call up at that time but picked up an injury training with them and after that, in my opinion, never reached that high level of performance again. After relegation there was endless transfer speculation surrounding him even though his form wasn't great. In 1996 I remember a home night game against Bradford who had 36 year old Chris Waddle playing for them, the best player on the pitch by miles. There was a group of guys shouting out at Sinclair ''Look at Waddle that is how you are supposed to do it!'' I also remember negative articles in AKUTR's at that time. Dowie, Rowlands and 6 million quid was indeed a lousy deal but it was the best or only deal on the table. |

Andy Sinton has been spot on today and he explained how Boro's tactics have taken Saito and Smyth out of the game. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and perhaps we should have played the extra midfielder to start with and try to contain them with a view to using our pacier players later in the game. Need to protect our goal difference lads. |

I was half listening to the Leeds v Liverpool commentary on Saturday and the commentators side kick was lamenting the fact that keepers no longer catch the ball but punch. Keepers also no longer guard their near post. We have to accept that the game evolves I guess although some of the changes make little sense. Also, I really am not a Paul Nardi fan but come on guys credit when credit is due. [Post edited 10 Dec 0:51]

It really was a great save from a remarkable corner kick. Took the replay to really appreciate it. |
