EEL is only 31 so good for another 2 years maybe as long as he keeps fit.

Hayes is valued at £400k by one of the sources. Even with Fleetwoods problems, a bit out of our reach if accurate.

OK but after all the support we felt for Joe Thompson I would have thought a but more respect was due to Max Taylor. So it hasn't worked out fir his career after a bright start at Old Trafford. But to overcome testicular cancer as a teenager deserves a bit more appreciation don't you think.

Good luck Max.

Galloway speech. Football related
at 12:54 24 Apr 2024

Wow

Whatever you think of Galloway, that is some powerful speech. Nice little plug for the Dale, but he really stuck the knife into the Premier League and the FA, but annihilated the Glazers- Robber Barons.

Come what may with the retained list.

One unsung hero.

Ethan Ebanks-Landell'

Played 45 of 46 league games- only missed 1 through suspension.

The 2 games he didn`t play were the Oldham home game and the Gateshead Cup game - when we conceded 9 goals. (Nine).

Kidderminster beat Chesterfield with 3 goals scored from 2 long throws and a long ball over the top, very similar to Rodney's equaliser. Could someone say to Jim he may be overthrowing football at this level.

Another Interested Party..
at 10:32 8 Mar 2024

It sounds as if at least two parties, both the LOI people, will be at tomorrows match.

It would be nice if the noisy chanters against the board shut up this once and concentrate on supporting the team, as noisily as they like.

Imagine the image it would give to new investors if, possibly the most important match in our history where there is no excuse for not winning against the bottom team, is overshadowed by peevishness in the crowd. If the result is wrong, then we are in a relegation battle for sure.

Which is the priority?

Also we constantly hear from the players how much the noise from the fans encourages them. Remember until yesterday they will have been fearing they may lose their jobs this month.

Which is the priority?

Also whilst you are piling up this hate against SG and the board, who do you think will have to go on paying the bills and even the payroll, which is only two weeks away, while we go on considering alternative investors , working through due diligence and making sure we don`t infringe any league rules.

Time is critical now both on and off the pitch. Think Jim McNulty as well.

Lets put all energy tomorrow into supporting the players and impressing the investors by our presence, Recriminations can wait.

For the life of me I can`t understand why any true fan would vote to shut down our club.
Is the statement that the March payroll will not be met not clear enough?

Get over it and vote for continued existence.

I have never criticised JM on this forum up to this point, and I sympathise with losing three key players at one go. but we are beginning to flirt with relegation ( with Barnet next). That would be disaster.

The manager is responsible for pushing the players to change tempo, and too many times they start off at low movement levels. Surely a fast start is essential here, then slip into the steady passing moves if the game progresses well. I agree we have been "worked out" by other teams beforehand.

Apologies. The excitement is obviously becoming to much.

The Altman suggestion is an interesting thought. They were very unhappy at being cut out last time.

Trust statement - Resignation
at 10:22 29 Feb 2024

The resignations of Chaff and Judd puts serious doubts in my mind about representation of any sane and serious remaining board members. I have no idea who the others are, but to cause such a dramatic response at such a critical time for the future of our club suggests to me that there remain some of the conspiracy theorists and people who cannot make difficult decisions, plus those who still doubt how serious is the current financial situation.

To the the latter I would just suggest they look at the last 3 years published accounts . There is no mystery there.

To the former, you may have the continued existence of our club in your hands if voting is close. You have been warned repeatedly now, even in public, that the club will be finished unless a sale goes ahead. Are you really willing to risk that just to satisfy your constant railing against the current board?

I know you are genuine fans, as have I been for the last 50+ years, but you should be able to take a hard decision on behalf of all the other genuine fans as well as all the staff and players of the football club who are dependant on a sale going ahead.

I have always given my proxies to the Trust Board in past occasions, but I am afraid it may be misused this time.

EGM + statement

Sorry if all credibility was lost by a reference to Brexit.

My point is that we need to narrow down to

Do we want to have a Club still trading after the EGM or do we accept that the Club as we know it is no more? Time has run out. Nero and Rome burning.

If we turn this solution down, what follows. No money in the coffers- only one answer.

We have been very clearly warned.

EGM + statement
at 11:40 22 Feb 2024

It really is time to concentrate on whether we want a club operating for the rest of this season or not.

The radio statement is clear.

There is an investor waiting in the wings who will invest £2m providing they have 90% of the shares.

SG is dismissive of the rogue and waster type of investor and suggests the potential investor has a clear track record and has a company background of substance. Short of actually naming the investor, which he clearly cannot do at this stage, I don`t see how much more info he could give out.

Now if you are one of those who doesn`t trust him or the board, then I suspect nothing will persuade you. Poring over "what went wrong" is no help at this critical time,

If you consider this is a "shotgun" proposal, I would ask you the same question. Are you prepared to risk everything when there may be an instant solution? We were warned 2 months ago that money to pay the bills/wages was running out.

Personally I would rather trust SG than lose my football club. In administration, the administrator`s sole function is to get the best price for the assets (such as they are) and pay off the creditors, starting with HMRC and other statutory bodies.

I believe we have one chance here, but that involves belief in what SG is saying, In the interview he states clearly the £2m will go into the club, not into shareholders pockets.

I would rather put my faith in someone who has "put his money where his mouth is" than completely lose control of the next sequence of events, which is the only alternative in the timescale we are talking about.

When it comes to a vote, we have to focus on what we are voting for. Remember Brexit!

Style of play - Players interaction
at 17:08 12 Feb 2024

Heartily agree.

No-one likes to lose and particularly when you know the team is underperforming.

But we need to concentrate on "what is happening behind the scenes". This is what will dictate what our club is doing in the next few weeks and possibly in the foreseeable future. Personally I would settle for survival this season and then tackle building a squad for next season. Hopefully with JM at the helm.

It is frustrating when the Board is keeping its cards close to its chest, but it would be foolish to spark a public debate at this stage. Surely everyone can tell there are many conversations taking place. which have to be played out in private.

Probably the postponement is a good thing for the squad.

1. Need to get used to new keeper

2. Hopefully get some more players fit.

Not good for finances though.

PS Looks as though Swindon may be going under.

Personally I`d be very happy to have a "young player at a crossroads in their fledgeling professional career" if it means having some strike power.

Remember Andrews a couple of years ago on loan from Wolves, who scored 3 goals in 7 appearances before getting injured and returning. Inexperienced but certainly made a difference.

As you say Armstrong only here this month which leaves only Moulden as a loan player I believe.

Times are hard, but could get harder if we run out of forwards altogether.

To say "we are somewhat light up front" is putting it mildly.

We have played since August with only one out and out striker available and since November with none available. I doubt any club in this league has landed in this predicament Yet we are still holding our own, and Hendo and the wide players have done a remarkable job to keep us there.

But surely now a striker on loan is essential. Hendo is honest enough to admit he is feeling the pressure. Surely sone young blood is available somewhere,

Great news- s really good young player.

For Saturday-with Clayton out- how about playing him in his earlier withdrawn role, with Keohane and Henderson as a pair of crafty inside forwards up front. Both know where the net is.

We have enough points to be reasonably safe. Lets go for goals and play 4-4-2.
