When I started going the pub at 16/17, you agreed to meet your mates there and that was that. That was where you did your socialising or at least the starting point for the night. It’s very rare that you’d go to someone house or did an activity like the gym,play football, go to music etc without a pub being involved.
That’s just not the same now. They track each other on Snapchat, they go to the gym and then leave it at that, they drive to gigs FFS!
It’s all very different to how it was when I was younger, which on reflection wasn’t massively different to my dad’s generation, although didn’t realise it at the time. |

He got the assist the other night against Wolves. Everton do have some good young players, the worry is that Moyes won’t always play them, history shows that he will go for his favourites who tend to be older more established players. We will see. |

I don’t think Everton have got a squad big enough to loan him out, I think both him and George are going to be key players for them this season.
He does come across really shy particularly when it comes to the media stuff, but hopefully the club can protect him from that. George was interviewed after the United game the other week and he came across painfully shy too.
Dibling looks a different player this season, more settled. I think he’ll come good. |

He was man of the match* against Wolves the other night, playing the full game. Came on for half an hour yesterday and was excellent. Seems to have grown in confidence and Moyes is trusting him more. The majority of fans want him to start every game now and I think he will after the international break.

Exactly this. Whenever they came to Goodison, in and around the ground, they acted like student banter merchants from the Home Counties. Little bellends. Their poverty chanting at last year’s game at HD was cringey as phuck.
They now also have a manager who is a cross between Klopp and Pep, spoilt b4stard who has zero self awareness. His recent cry arsing about only being able to use five subs in a game when he has loads of players citing players wellbeing was staggering. I hate watching Arsenal, snidey, cry arsing cheating team. |

He pops up now and again with some pieces which are very, very good and then brought the fanzine off as one off and it went down very well so had a follow up one at the end of the season. Hopefully there will be a few more this season.
He binned off the message board spin off years ago following legal action from a couple of people with no sense of humour. It’s still going strong under a new name with a lot of the old contributors but he keeps well out of it! |

I loved fanzines and would often buy the opposition one when I went to away games. Like most things, the main Everton one When Skies Are Grey was brilliant as was the spin off message board, similar to here I guess.
Mark O’Brien, the original editor of it, launched a new one last season. It’s only two copies in but it’s infinitely better than anything on the internet. |

They were exactly the same last season, although they have had quite a few players sold this Summer. They have enough good players and a cracking manager to finish in the top ten at least. |

A group of Pompey ‘patriots’ rocked up at a local hotel yesterday after getting a tip off that a load of ‘illegals’ were staying there. Turns out it was the Pakistan Under 19 cricket team.
Fair do’s to them though for mobilizing so quick and getting the day off work….. |

Has it also got to do with a change in the drinking culture of the UK? When I was in my younger days, Friday was always straight to the pub after work and where I’d meet my mates, no texts no calls, I knew they’d be there.
Young people now don’t have to meet their mates down the pub to be connected, there’s a whole range of ways to connect. They also aren’t as interested in drinking as we were back in the day. They are all about keeping fit, both physically and mentally, certainly far more than I was back in the day. |

Met him a few times when I worked at Pompey In The Community, cracking bloke, funny, brutally honest and absolutely loved the club and would be there at the drop of a hat to support them.

I dont think he is there to solve Everton's right back issues, more to replace the hopeless Patterson who has gone to Torino today.
Everton's best right back is James Garner by a country mile, he's also possibly their best midfielder too though. With Noorgard, Hackney and Armstrong in the middle I can see Moyes playing Garner more at right back.
For me Garner should have gone to the WC instead of Henderson, he could easily have covered the right back position. He played there for the Under-21 when they won the Euros a few years back. |

I think with Ndiaye going, Dibling might get more game time as Grealish very much plays on the left, more so that any player I've ever seen in that he absolutely hogs the touch line. |

Who’s going this weekend?
I’ve got tickets for Friday and Sunday as I’m hoping to go to Bournemouth away on Saturday.
Friday’s line up looks great. The Coral, Cast, Hard Fi, Richard Ashcroft, The Vaccines, The Royston Club. Obviously the timings don’t all match but as a middle aged women might say, at least I will get my steps in.*
*please don’t say that sexist, it’s not. |

Although he’s only 20 years old I think he needs to play somewhere regardless of where his parents live. Tyrique George is a similar age, apparently they are good mates from England groups and Chelsea, but he has all the confidence in the world and has the swagger that Dibling is missing.
Going home all the time is not going to help him in the long run, IMO. |

He played okay last night and has played well in pre-season. He still seems to be a bit timid whilst other younger players such as George (man of the match on Saturday) and Armstrong are very confident and seem head and shoulders above him at the moment.
As it stands, when everyone in the squad is fit, he is going to struggle to make the bench. That said I can see there loads of comings and going before next Thursday which could see opportunities open up for him or he could go out on loan. If he does go on loan, I think it would be to someone like Preston where he can carry on living where he is and the club can keep tabs on him. |

I’m not sure how the socialist reds are going to explain that one whilst cry arsing about not having the spending capacity of others. They spent 250 million on two players last summer and I know loads of them who, with a straight face, complain about how unfair it is that they can’t compete in the transfer market. |
