Losing Eustaquio was the key to yesterday’s result forcing us to pick a rather unbalanced midfield. I really hope Welsh’s injury isn’t too bad because that will certainly stop us challenging for the autos. |

Ah my bad. Bare bones then but even then if Stewart scored I’d have backed us to take all 3 points. Kind of wish we could have just won 3-0 against Blackburn and kept his goal for last night 😔 |

I wonder if the aggression against Iran will stop or carry on. If it carries on then the suspicions of many regarding Israeli infiltration or influence/corruption of both parties would seem to be a genuine concern. |

I’d never put Widdell on the wing it nullifies his best qualities. Yesterday I’d have played him at 10 and put eom and Opoku on the wings , either Franco or Stamenic not both in the same team and because of his illness I’d have benched Marco and played Franco. Fulton a definite first pick for me. As for the defence it looked like a very good combo with Seelt and Welsh but disaster struck and even though it didn’t look that bad a challenge the coms reckon he twisted his knee. Hope there’s no ligament damage 🙏. As for up maybe it should have Stewart who started. Idah didn’t have a terrible game but he wasn’t able to hold the ball up. Maybe Stewart’s strength and aggression might have been the better option. Then again who am I to criticise especially missing our real midfield heartbeat Stephen Eustaquio. That was probably our real demise not having him in the side. |

I just knew looking at the line up we were going to struggle tonight. Losing Welsh is a killer - I only hope he’s not out for too long. Ben not at it tonight so I’d like to see Lissah and Seelt have a run. Key is fit again so why not? If there’s anyone we really missed tonight though it was Stephen Eustaquio. We seem to have little if no control without him and the Fulton /Stamenic axis ain’t cutting it . |

Maybe we’ve struck oil here with the Fulton and Eustaquio midfield axis. This season they have shown they are high end performers but both with excellent footballing brains. It could be the making of our midfield- the magic formula that we have two very god players who complement each other perfectly. Nothing against Marko whom could even play in a much more advanced area in front of them which would give us a very aggressive midfield set up For some games. I suppose that’s the joy of it now - with so much depth our options are frightening. I wouldn’t mind if Almeida turned up in the next window as he is sheer class. He’s on loan at RC Santander now but they have struggled a bit. He is a fantastic player though one addition you could almost nail on promotion with. |

It was and should really have happened. As for Stewart he is definitely “all in” with regards the club. His intervention at nil nil in our own box durning the Millwall away game could be a very important moment in our season. I think he is the real deal - he has looked sharp every time he’s come on and he’s got strength and pace. His finish was scintillating yesterday and like Lissah I’m chuffed to see him get his first goal (hopefully of many) for us. Should he start at Portsmouth or have him come on as pantomime villain later on (being ex Southampton)? |

I wonder if they will release any more tickets? I would have gone from Newport but the last train back leaves pompey at just after 9 so no chance. If we are top 2 after Christmas would the club put a few special trains on ? |

They’d won 4 drawn 1 and lost one in their last six so we probably made them look poor rather than them just being rubbish. A great win and two new goal scorers to add to this seasons roster. Can we win at pompey - a good chance. Win at Birmingham and we really would be cooking again. Nice to see Key get on and Parente too. |

I think some of our tight passing is as good as anyone’s in this league. We aren’t racking up the goals yet - I we were that post from the QPR board would definitely be different. |

I watch the Benjamin Bloom Championship prediction podcast and his opposite number , Geo a west ham fan said we paid them way too much respect. He’s a very even handed pundit who was very pleased with the result after being nervous pre match. We have every right to be where we are. |

It’s a massive sign of respect for us that the team expected to walk the division had to resort to those tactics. The ref was never really going to give anything against them so we can hold our heads up high and go on another good run. I think WHU’s trouble , like wolves and Southampton will be consistency - we certainly have an opportunity to challenge for the top 2. Don’t stop believing!! |

Eustaquio made a difference when he came on and West Ham realised it and tried to mark him out of the game. We put up a very good display against a very valuable and able squad. A bit frustrating that one of our efforts didn’t go in but all in all a good barometer of where we are. |
