Couldn't agree more . It seems definition of bravery being suggested here here is tweaking some in game movements rather than any radical overhaul . It feels like some are determined to wallow in negativity rather than celebrate hard won success by a team of players giving their all for the club . I just hope management and staff pay no heed to such over the top criticism .
Just to put things in perspective :-
* we currently have a squad of just 18/19 professionals
* of that squad we have 4 long term injuries ruled out
* in turn that means we are almost compelled to to turn out the same team
each game without respite
* given that workload its hardly surprising some technical errors creep in to the
game
Given these points I personally make allowances for some inconsistency in performance game to game , and am proud , after previous years experience , to see quite a young team commit with such pride and determination to grind out results such as today's win . |

FFS ....... given an unexpected and unwanted development in relation to Johnson the Board and JM have clearly moved together with alacrity to resolve a potentially difficult scenario ...... they certainly didn't "slumber" or "drag feet" . On a separate point I've noted with interest the number of times new recruits have commented that the transfer process has "taken time" and they're pleased to finally get the deal over the line . that's the nature of modern football and my take on that is the Board and JM etc have worked diligently together to get deals JM wanted done , not shown a lack of commitment .
If you have a personal vendetta against the Board , its better kept personal in my view . |

Very disjointed display today and most disappointing . No real rhythm in the play , lack of movement and commitment , and poor passing/control cost us and meant we lost possession too often and too easily .
Only bright spots for me were keeper looked solid , triallist A looked to have something about him , and Dos Santos looked very comfortable when he came on playing at right back .
Interestingly James Ball was sat in the stands for the full 90 minutes plus all of half time ....... injured or excluded ? |

I seem to recall in the last week a statement along the lines of having a free agent midfielder from Ireland who'd been training with the squad for the past 2/3 weeks ? This might be another option ? |

Personally I feel this is getting to the stage of complete farce now with the lack of transparent communication .
Midfield for me is an area where we still need quality and physicality and from what bits I've seen , and what I've read , this lad seems to tick boxes . However if h's not considered good enough and no del is likely , at least give us the facts of the case . |

Just a point of interest does anyone know if Jordan Scanlon is with the youth team in Portugal as he seems not involved in the pre-season friendlies having just signed his first pro contract ? |

Thanks for that to you and Chaff . Admittedly just on that brief evidence , he looks an interesting midfield prospect . Again on that evidence alone , the keeper did not look so impressive . |

My half would be Scanlon at this stage of his career .
Personally , assuming O'Connell goes and hoping Thomas signs my priorities would be a RB , LB , 2xCB's , and another quick wide midfielder/forward . I think that would provide a squad complement of 22(?) which still feels light for a full season so 2/3 extra bodies would probably be required by the close of the window . |

Not a lot from my perspective really in terms of potential pro contracts .Thomas certainly and Kyffin looks very talented but slight . Other than that Scanlon and Kershaw looked solid , but overall we looked a bit lightweight and naive against a team with a more solid build and a bit more pace . Potential yes , but few immediate prospects for me . |

Do we need some perspective here ?
Two months ago we were lucky to have a league football club after the appalling mismanagement of the former Board and revered manager . A new board and Stockdale committed to enhancing our prospects with a very limited budget within which to work . As a result we've invested in a very young (and presumably relatively) cheap squad for the current season .
Given that stark reality I have little sympathy with those who choose to criticise after every game . The latest result of a 0-0 draw agaianst the moneybags of the division was a massive boost to me as an exile until I've read the vitriolic criticism of our young defenders who delivered a clean sheet at the end of the game .
I was delighted with a point out of the game but rendered quite disappointed by the hyper critical reaction of those on this message board . We have a very young squad who deserve to be encouraged , not hounded .
As other , more rationale posters on here have suggested an even spread of wins , draws , and losses on our record by the New Year would probably be a result , and a win (please?) on Saturday would mean 4 wins , 5 draws , and 5 losses ..... not far off ?
I just hope we can get together in a more supportive manner behind a young team rather than constantly knocking and deriding youngsters who are committed to our club as things stand at present |

My recollection , and , as usual these days , I stand to be corrected , is that Bobby Stephenson was around immediately prior to the promotion season but not part of it . I think Hughen Riley came to prominence the season after ? |
