20 minutes is all that's left when you strip out the endless action replays, shots of the crowd, the manager doing his nut, interviews with players and managers followed by a studio discussion of a game you've barely seen.
Edit: They kept the action replays in. So it's not 20 minutes of football, it's more like ten. [Post edited 12 Mar 2023 8:04]

There's a book called The Anglo-Saxons by Marc Morris.
It casts doubt on the idea of a heptarchy, claiming that the seven kingdoms were seven of maybe a dozen or so.
It labels kingdoms at various times on an outline map but doesn't show clearly defined borders.
It is interesting how not all kingdoms were equal, with some effectively serving a satellites of others. |

Last week I went to Stevenage v mk Dons, cup replay as I'm working in the area. Good crowd, good atmosphere, no nastiness (that I could detect from where I was sitting) even when they went behind.
I left feeling somewhat envious of their support and their match atmosphere.
What it's like on a league day, I don't know. |

Feeling somewhat mortified by all the recent revelations.
What a contrast with the way it was back in the 60s and 70s. Who remembers Farohk Engineer playing for Lancs? And of course the great Clive; he was so proud to play for Lancashire. And there was Lord Constantine of Trinidad and Nelson in the County Paletine of Lancaster, a title chosen to honour his place of birth and the kindness of the people who had received him in Lancashire.

Apologies if this has been said here before but I've just discovered that he is now playing for Kelty Hearts. Scottish League Division 2. The good news is they are 4 points clear at the top, that'll be Kallum's influence. |
