TRANSFER: Varney makes Leeds move. Norris to follow? Wednesday, 25th Jul 2012 09:24 by Dan Brett Luke Varney has joined Championship side Leeds United for an undisclosed fee. Striker Varney, 29, joined Pompey last summer from Blackpool for £750,000 and became popular with the fans after a string of good performances. However, this effort was ill-rewarded after a number of injuries kept him out for a number of months, leaving the former Derby County star low down manager Michael Appleton's picking order. Varney was also involved in a bust up with fans late last season, during a match at home. The striker had missed a number of chances during the match and frustration grew within the crowd – with the striker gesturing for fans to 'calm down'. David Norris has also been lined up for a move to Leeds, after the Yorkshire side confirmed they were close to a takeover Click here to sign up for an account and reserve your username!
