Not won a single thing. Never really settled at a club.

Awful appointment.

Well, given you know absolutely nothing about him (much like the rest of us) how about you shut your negative mouth and see what happens?

This is a bit better from the board. Experienced and has a record of his teams being hard working who play good football.

Lets follow it up with a win tomorrow and get some players who will improve us on board.

My only worry is, the board have done this to soften the blow for the lack of and possible lack of new players.

Italian coaches are usually well drilled in many ways. Far better than most. There's that coach uni type thing they have in Italy where they all have to study. The other thing about italian coaches are they will always get the best out what they have in the squad. I hate to say this but think Sousa. He played in Italy, arguably had a big impact on hi at juventus winning Cl under lippi. Anyway, back to the pint. This is definitely leftfield and in keeping actually with what we've done in the past ( not including monk and curtis). I would also imagine he'd be pretty cool with a 6 month deal and see how it goes. Although from a motivational perspective that is not a good idea.

Contract till the end of season, if he keeps us up, maybe this is when BR comes back?

Udinese are well known for the quality of their scouting setup. Wouldn't mind betting that picking his brains on that was part of the attraction.

Is he? I thought he was working for the Watford family ( the ones that own them and a couple of other clubs)?

They own, or used to Udinese in Italy. Similar to us in many ways. He used to manage them along with Palermo and one or two others. Could be the solid appointment we need right now!

Obviously a decent manager according to his ex-captain at Udinese.

http://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/guidolin-deserves-italy-job-says-di-natale#:V8ID

He also seems to favour a quick attacking style of play, although had to change at the latter stage of his Udinese career due to the owner getting too involved.

They most certainly are. In the 90s they brought quite a few over from Brazil and Argentina. Not only that they have a good development structure too.

Isn't he technical advisor to Watford this season?

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I agree - very happy that we've at least done something and he seems to have a record of helping teams in trouble or smaller clubs get to the next level.

Nonsense, read the reviews from my post above...just because you've never heard of him doesn't make it a poor appointment...

Reports towards the end of week saying that Watford had bid for Montero, related to that perhaps?

Ain't that the truth.

Well done the board!

Now let's get onto recruitment. Striker and one or two others please.

At least it's a positive step in all the negativity that has surrounded the club at the moment.

3 points tomorrow followed by some new faces and 3 more straight wins and we're laughing again

Well I never saw this one coming if it's only until the end of the season who's coming then ?
If he should help keep us up would we want him to leave?
Does he have any transfer targets in mind ?
Who does he want out?
Can he speak good English ?

Looks promising....

From Wikipedia....

In two seasons as Udinese coach, Guidolin obtained a fourth and a third place: both results were hailed as astonishing, considering they both led his club to a place in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League. In his first season, Udinese arrived only behind Milan, Inter and Napoli, with 28-title winners Juventus behind them. In his second season in charge, Guidolin did not make it to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League as his club was eliminated by Arsenal, then arriving to the UEFA Europa League round of 16 (eliminated by AZ Alkmaar), and completing the domestic season in third place (best result in club history, equalling Alberto Zaccheroni 1996—97 season) ahead of Lazio, Napoli and Inter.

Guessing he'll be in charge of first team match day affairs and Curt can go back to his tole as coach and all round good guy.

Funny that his first game is against his other bosses.

Nah, don't try and pre-empt anything, maybe we've been waiting for this appointment before committing to any signings, this is our first positive step at last.

Surely he would want to be in full control?
Is Curt going to be the press guy and team talks now and this guys going to implement philosophy and control tactics, subs etc.

Would rather this guy head coach and Curt assistant..
