Never a fan of his, but appreciate what an interesting character he was and arguably the last of the real creative types in the world of Rock. Encompassed so many influences and genres in his music. RIP.

There aint half been some clever bastards.

Too young for Beatles, Bowie and the Stones in their prime but old enough for U2, Talking Heads and Prince. He was part of the soundtrack to my teenage years and Purple rain was amazing. Just had to download back catalogue as CDs are scratched to fu**

Darling Nikki and The Beautiful Ones - Underplayed and underated RIP

As with so many things, Bowie was a pioneer and that seems to include dying in 2016.

Prince was never really my thing but he was clearly massively talented and maybe the last pop artist to emerge that seemed like a real one-off.

Bob Dylan is starting to look miraculous.

Just on that underrated guitarist bit, stumbled across this

From George Harrison's, posthumous induction into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.

Very sedate, reverential first couple of verses from Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne then Prince just blows them all away.

The 02 concerts took place during Phil Beard's reign at the 02 didn't they?

Philip Beard ‏@philipb1 17h17 hours ago

Just seen the sad news about Prince. The 21 nights he played at The O2 were a major highlight of the first year at the venue.
