I went to a "nightclub" in Maesteg one evening after a 5 nations rugby match. That was rough. |
Went into a bar Mostar in 1989, not the best idea after passing through numerous checkpoints, I said to my friend I think we need to leave, he said 'not any worse than Maesteg'.
We drank our beer in silence watched carefully by 15 to 20 surly local chaps.
When we left, he said 'probably worse than Maesteg!' |  |

Cracking boozer on the Bridgend side of the Teg called the Cross Inn, they've got a Micro Brewery there, I've yet to go though, but I'm told its a cracking little Hostelry. | |

We went there because Jimmy was from Mostar, nobody wanted to talk to us, on reflection things were building up to the civil war and Jimmy a Bosnian married to a Croat was not going to be a good opening to a conversation. Jimmy was remarkable to rebuild his life.We were just two young guys travelling and would have been the last people the locals wanted to see. | |
