If we sign him and he sorts himself out, we'd have a player far too good for the lower end of League One. Hill likes signing and turning around "broken toy" players, but surely Ranger is too far gone? Swindon and Southend both failed, why will it work for us? Why should Hill be any different to all the other managers that have tried and failed? Can you imagine the self righteous comments on here if it was Bury or Oldham linked with signing him? He's just a nasty piece of work and despite desperately needing another presence up front it's a shame if he's going to be our only option, despite his protestations he's a changed man.
If we have to do this, give him a short term contract until the end of the season so it won't cost much to bomb him out at the first hint of trouble. | | | |

He has as many entries on his charge sheet as in the goals scored column in his time at Southend. I have liberal views but how many times can you say he has paid for his actions and the slate is clean? He has had his chances but hasn’t learned from them. He is so far removed from the the culture the club has built I cannot see why they would jeopardise that and employ him. If he moved next door to me it would trouble me because trouble follows him around and his doorstep has seen plenty of it.
On a football front saw him once at Southend and he looked unfit, and that was not early in his time there when I saw him. It’s a big no from me. | | | |
