Loanee Theo Robinson has returned to the Shrimpers . The U's want him to return from his parent club to lead the front line for the promotion campaign run in .
However, can a deal be done for his return, could we do better ?

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

The club want him but the player himself is unsure apparently tweeting to Big Frank that he's off!

Southend (surely relegation fodder) seem unclear as to whether to keep him as well.

The following players could do a job for Colchester in the second half of the season:

Bradley Wright Phillips 34
Jay Emmanuel Thomas 29
Nile Ranger 28
Andy Barcham 33
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake 33

Their ages not the number of goals scored this season!!!!!!!!!!

But what is wrong with playing Junior and with Paris Cowan-Hall coming back to fitness, we should have sufficient firepower (Chuck Norris, Big Frank and Kwame Poku).

I'm in agreement Durham. Saw most of what Robinson offered and it was poor fare. He's not a team man, doesn't track back or help defend like for example Frank - which is probably why he's knackered. Senior is similar to Robinson in several of these areas.
We can do better, or at least look to our own resources for the next three games. That allows time before the Exeter thrashing and the end of the month. Pell, who bizarrely has featured in div 2 award votes today has actually looked more like a centre forward than Robinson or indeed Norris when he pushes forward. Unfortunately game lad and team man that he is he isn't a particularly effective footballer. Too many mistakes, arguments, whining etc. Shame as he has outscored both our supposed CFs in the last few weeks!
Try Junior first or Fernandes maybe. But no, we don't need Robinson as much as Southend do!

I'm okay with keeping Robinson, he's done pretty good with his opportunities. Southend don't need him, they need the sort of miracle that isn't going to happen to spare them from relegation bottom of the league, and possibly with the record for poorest performance ever in doing so. They can't sell him, he's already played for us and Southend, so no one will buy him before the summer. They might want to hold on to him for League 2 next season, but they are already (back) into dire financial straits and need every penny Ron can muster.

Ron knows this, Robbie knows this, so if McGreal and Humes think Theo ultimately has a role in the second half of the season, I have no doubt we pick him up for next to nothing during this transfer window. I'm happy with that if it happens, but I do think we also need to cast our net a bit wider anyway.

Wilfred Bony is a free agent.

We once enlisted Teddy Sheringham, so why not?

Teddy Sheringham was paid £6k per week.

It was a disaster and he was a disappointment.

Nothing wrong with a high profile signing providing we get value for money.

Extra bums on seats, inspirational and motivational play and goals not a lot to ask!

He's not in the Southend side today if that's significant.

Would he actually want to be? Hardly a step up from the super U's!

The speculation is over, Theo has returned to Col U for the remainder of the season.
