Decision days ahead from June 1st onwards 13:27 - May 31 with 24221 views | KeithHaynes | Matt Grimes, looks likely bids will be received. Jay Fulton, has he done all he can at Swansea ? Jamal Lowe, retain or put in the shop window ? Jan Dhanda, there are a few suitors, let him leave ? The swans will almost certainly retain Ryan Bennett, Jake Bidwell, Joel Latibeaudiere, Ben Cabango, Conner Roberts, Korey Smith, Steven Benda, Ben Hamer, George Byers, Jordon Garrick, Morgan Whittaker, Liam Cullen, Ryan Manning. Oli Cooper, Brandon Cooper, Cameron Evans, Daniel Williams. ( Regards Roberts and Cabango, they need another Championship season for me ) Decisions to be made on Rushesha, Freeman, John, Webb, Gould, Mckay, Routledge Possible inclusion for 2021/22 season ? Al Hamadi, Govea. Loan players, consider them all gone. Out of contract Ayew, consider him gone. Any thoughts ? I’ll pin this thread and amend etc, for the immediate future

Decision day from tomorrow onwards on 18:27 - May 31 by cockneyswan | I think Swans will suffer if SC leaves, I cannot see us getting another manager who could get this group into a po final, admittedly the final was disappointing but Brentford have invested and backed their manager and got the rewards, remember we were only one game away from the Prem. Without SC loan contacts I think we would really struggle, I think if we could have kept MGW we are in the prem. however if SC has seen all of the social media negativity he probably can’t wait to get the REMOVED out of Swansea. Whatever happpen thank you Steve Cooper for an exciting season. Ps posters be careful what you wish for, look what happened to Stoke after the fans demanded exciting football rather than being pragmatic.

Decision day from tomorrow onwards on 22:04 - May 31 by Whiterockin | Fulton, Grimes and Smith would be an excellent midfield base for next season. |
All too similar IMO. We need a playmaker in there ideally, although the first thing we need is a manager with the willing to make proper use of one.

Grimes is a good playmaker in right set up...platini would look garbage in the way we play,no runners no one who can hold ball up top and make it stick to get us moving again further up field, only passes he got on are sideways or backwards to feet,,

Exactly Grimes can see a pass and play it. Problem this season he had to up the work rate and cover for the lazy CH and Dhanda. Have Smith and Fulton holding and fee Grimes to be playmaker. A decent number 9 with any 2 of Lowe Whitticker Cullen and we have a base to work from. Bring in some extra quality as improvements and who knows.

Agree Dr & not enough goals between which heaps a lot of pressure on the 2/3 more forward players on the pitch - that said they all add something so happy to have them in our squad. Can start all 3 with 4 at the back but makes us very negative with 5.

Decision day from tomorrow onwards on 20:52 - May 31 by ReslovenSwan1 | Laudrup has not had any support for taking over any other club in Europe. He is used to making ridiculous demands and walking away when he does not get them. Birch wanted to bring back the Swansea way having witnessed the excellent work of Potter and apponted Swansea legend Leon Britton. Sadly Leon was not up to this task and walked. Swansea should appoint Angel Rangel to the team with the job of advising the Chairman/ some scouting and carrying the "holy scared baton" passed on by Sir Huw of Aberdulais who sadly fell on his excallibur on that cold foggy January night of the long knives. It got very foggy on the M62. One of the great nights of drama of this great club. Swansea city is pure theatre not a grim northern cotton town team. Cooper gave up and shook hands before the final whistle. Where was Bennett for a late all out assault? "Whats the point I am Premeir league anyway" perhaps? . Skysports thought 'London bound' Cooper 'showed class'. 5 to go. "Benno get stripped and cause havoc mate" where was it? [Post edited 31 May 2021 20:56]

Wow. Grim northern cotton town.# Just what sickening narrow minded ignorant drivel is that. A land that was key in this country's development until poor management ,corruption and cheap eastern labour killed them-just like Wales. You how profound ignorance and frankly you're not worth the effort.

Decision days ahead from June 1st onwards on 09:00 - Jun 1 with 1989 views | Dr_Winston | Grimes isn't a playmaker. He can recycle the ball well enough or play the odd decent longer ball, but he's never been a consistent creative presence in midfield.

Decision days ahead from June 1st onwards on 09:42 - Jun 1 with 1946 views | Catullus | I think Grimes and Fulton as holding players would work, if we could get MGW back on loan that would start to look good. Even so we need wingers or forwards who are more alert, more crative and willing to shoot. Lowe worled very hard but how mnay times did he dribble across the box with no end product. How many times did Ayew hold onto the ball too long? Was that them aloe or was it just there was no support, no one to pass to? The structure of the whole team was negative, too safe, too "pragmatic" but you have to take risks otherwise you become a team of robots doing the same thing over and over hoping for a bit of luck. Look at our shooting stats, https://fbref.com/en/comps/10/shooting/Championship-Stats You cannot gain success by defence alone. Except when Arsenal did it and look how boring people called them!

Decision day from tomorrow onwards on 15:18 - May 31 by KeithHaynes | Had a bit of a chat today with someone who makes all this sort of stuff his business, Twitter etc. Very well informed too. This is what he thinks. Matt Grimes Tops 7m Jay Fulton 3.5m Jamal Lowe 8m Jan Dhanda 2m We spoke about the finances this season and he thinks there will be little impact on the loss of the parachute payments with weekly wages such as Ayew at 80k, Hourihane at 28k half a season, Guehi at 5k, MGW 7k half a season, the loss of money on Morris and Arriola which he thinks was around 2 million, so in one nine month season that’s a saving of - Ayew just under 3m Hourihane 600k MGW 150k Guehi 200k 2m lost on fees etc on Morris / Arriola Total - around 6m It’s inevitable then players will leave and the saleable assets are Grimes, Dhanda and Fulton. If they went it could mean 11m or so in the coffers as the swans don’t do staggered payments, his words not mine. This excludes Lowe who I think will stay. So there’s 17m potentially in savings. Not withstanding their salaries which have to be replaced but they won’t be as high as those players, albeit they aren’t on millions. Plus the Oli and Brandon Cooper factor. He reckons they will have huge seasons next time, if they stay injury free. The big thing of course is the return of supporters, that money has not been seen for fifteen months and will make an impact as the clubs financial model has been redesigned due to Covid. Plus the huge rise in commercial revenue as a result. Like me he feels Roberts would prefer to stay as would Cabango. He can’t see the club getting more than 2m a piece for them. Please remember this is just a chat with someone I have known for years who has his hand well on the pulse, not stone cold fact. It’s that time of year now. For any Cardiff fans reading this, Swansea as a club has operated within a stringent financial boundary for two years now, take a look at your own finances first before commenting. Plus the fact the swans can show twice the amount of Swans TV subs and financial profit than Cardiff City via their TV service. His inside knowledge on Cardiff is much better than on the swans and he genuinely believes they are well in the mire.

Fair.He s 100 per cent but he s a journeyman and one who let us down when he was most needed. Truly a season to forget. We need new players and manager and owners . Two out of three wouldn’t be bad

Lowe, like most others will benefit when Cooper leaves outer club. He s got good attitude and a decent sort and one who didn’t need the mismanagement if the most overrated manager of ours in modern times. He should have gone by now Two play offs, two failures Automatic spot to nothing. A January window utterly squandered ,as the others were .

Its a bad trait when your stupidity ends the game at Wembley by stamping on a players angle. If Steven Dobbie was that dumb a Scotsman Swansea would have lost to Reading in 2011. Like Grimes the occasion got the better of him. [Post edited 1 Jun 2021 13:51]

True, the sense of occasion and sheer passion and pain at looming defeat was the cause. Hourihane free of that though. His selection condemns Cooper out of sight

Some are unable to see the wood for the trees, Fulton gives his all, prone to a mistake yes, if he wasn't he'd be playing for a top 6 premier league team, people will have all differing opinions especially on football forums and rightly so. Fulton very unlucky Saturday, slipped and caught the players ankle, Ref couldn't get his card out of his pocket quick enough, been told they heard the screeching players screams in Carlise, knew exactly what he was doing prompting the ref to react the way he did.

He got rid or ostracised every wide player we had. SC was responsible for our style of play. Changed us into a hoof it team and that is bloody criminal. Whoever comes in will very likely not do as well as SC league position wise, but I hope its a damn sight better on the eye.

The only footballing attribute he posses, that is above Champ average, is his heading. Lacks real match level pace, cant dribble, cant create, cant score, not a leader, wins the odd tackle, but it lacks presence on the pitch. Grimes, on the other hand, ticks a lot of boxes. Fulton could never score a goal like the Grimes play off stunner vs Barnsley, and Grimes is the sort of level we need to aim for.
