Realistically how many points are we going to need? I know we tend to talk about 47/48 which I assume is the average but suspect this year might be lower than average so I reckon. 45 be enough meaning two wi s and two draws. Burnsie I have said 48 points for some time though. Sadly my 70 points and 200/1 seventh place finish went for a Burton weeks ago.
I reckon three more wins will do the trick. Newport and Crewe at home and Salford away (we have a good record at Moor Lane). That would leave us four games in case anything goes wrong but frankly we do not want to rely on having to win at Crawley or worse allow another last game winner takes all.
So can we win those three games.
Anything else and it will be squeaky bum time.

I still think lowish 40s will be enough, 42 or 43 maybe. Forget our 'six-pointer' at Crawley, it's now Pools and Rochdale to worry about. Dale are toast, so can Hartlepool make up 5 points (six including GD) in the last 8 games? Saturday against the Exiles will be crucial in that regard.
Own goal no longer credited to Tom but no severe damage done for us although two points ahead with a game in hand Games starting to run out. A win tomorrow would work wonders for us!

The Exiles game is a must win. If nothing else it will give the team confidence to secure those vital points that are still needed to stay up.

An eventful evening on Tuesday for Leyton Orient saw them lose, deal with floodlight failure and get promoted all in a few hours. Orient are not a team that will play you off the pitch but they work hard, do a lot of the basics well and found some confidence and momentum early season and despite the odd blip here and there have looked like getting promoted for a long time. Not bad for a side that were in the National League not too long ago and went on a dreadful run last season before winning seven of their last eleven games to secure a mid-table finish. I think they're going to win the league, and deservedly so, and they'll do it without this mythical 20 goal a season striker, in fact their top scorer currently sits on 10 goals. We'll miss not being in the same division as them as it's a local game and they always bring decent support. I'm pleased to see them go up though as I feel they're a proper football club and they've been through the mill in the not too distance past so it's nice for them to have turned it round completely. Also in the interviews I've watched I've always found Wellens to be a decent, honest and straight talking manager so it's good to see him have some success.
