Evidently his twin brother played for them previously. I thought he was one of our better players last season, especially when we were really struggling, shame it hasn't worked out for him here. We've had a few players in recent seasons that we've expected to be really good for us and it hasn't really happened for them for whatever reason.

Once he is fit he will be a useful asset to the team. I think Pompey made a real hash of managing probably mismanaging him. Some sour grapes from the dockyard supporters. Alex Newby is certainly another player who never lived up to his promise. Good luck to him at Altrincham Interesting also that Gateshead are getting good value from Luke Hannant. Appeals to me if it means we stop fannying around requiring ten passes to reach the half way line. We perhaps need an Iwelumo + Cureton combination along with more direct play in League Two.

I completely agree that more direct play is required. Our best chance on Monday came when we got the ball forward quickly to Akinde who laid it off to Chilvers to cross for Taylor to fluff the chance. We need to cross the ball more as well. Chilvers has his knockers but delivered two crosses against Gillingham that should've both resulted in goals. Fevrier needs to work on his decision making and final delivery. If Edwards can stay fit maybe we can start playing with two wide players.
