Jacob Brown scored a dramatic late winner as Luton earned their first victory at home in the Premier League this season. 3 got this spot-on, and one more had the outcome.
NEWCASTLE 4 CHELSEA 1
Three second-half goals proved the difference as Newcastle emphatically returned to winning ways in the Premier League against 10-man Chelsea. Nobody had this spot-on, but 16 did get the outcome, with 10 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score.
SHEFFIELD UNITED 1 AFC BOURNEMOUTH 3
Justin Kluivert became only the third player to score in Europe's top five leagues as Bournemouth moved seven points clear of the relegation places with back to back wins for the first time this season. Again nobody got this spot-on, though 13 did have the outcome.
PLYMOUTH ARGYLE 2 SUNDERLAND 0
Plymouth won for the first time in a month as they ended Sunderland's recent good run of form with this victory. No 3 pointer for anybody here, but 6 did get the outcome. 18 predicted a win for Sunderland. but their 24 shots and 14 corners came to nothing.
PRESTON NORTH END 1 CARDIFF CITY 2
Cardiff scored goals in the 96th and 99th minutes to snatch a dramatic late win as they came from behind to beat 10-man Preston. No points for anybody from this game, as 24 predicted a win for Preston.
WEST BROMWICH ALBION 2 IPSWICH TOWN 0
West Brom moved back into the top six of the Championship with a win which brought Ipswich's 12-game unbeaten league run to an end, as they fail to have a shot on target. Another game with no 3 pointer, though 4 did get the outcome.
LEYTON ORIENT 1 WIGAN ATHLETIC 1
Wigan had to settle for a draw after missing a first minute penalty. Well done to durham_exile for being the only one to get this spot-on, and nobody had the outcome.
WYCOMBE WANDERERS 1 READING 2
Lewis Wing scored against his former club to hand struggling Reading a vital win, ending a run of nine league matches without a victory, with their first points away this season, and their first away league win in more than a year. Also Wycombe scored with their only shot on target. Nice one Bloomfield. Well done to BFG for being the only one to have this spot-on, and only ghughes11 got the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Wycombe.
AFC WIMBLEDON 4 NOTTS COUNTY 2
Wimbledon moved to within a point of the play-offs, as Notts County slipped out of the automatic promotion spots, despite having 75% possesion, as their defence let them down again. A final game this week with no 3 pointer, though 6 did have the outcome. 17 predicted a win for County.
GRIMSBY TOWN 1 SUTTON UNITED 1
Sutton take their unbeaten league run to four with this third draw in a row. 4 had this spot-on, and nobody got the outcome. 20 predicted a win for Grimsby.
SWINDON TOWN 2 MANSFIELD TOWN 1
Jake Young got a 93rd minute winner to end Mansfield's unbeaten start to the season. That late winner was good news for the sublime 5 who got this spot-on, and the further 3 who had the outcome.
After the fantastic five game week last week, that was better than any six game one this season, we were brought back down to earth with a bump this week, with a disasterous eleven game week, that was a lot worse than any ten game one this season. It was a week full of shock results, with six games failing to have a 3 pointer, two more only having one, and at least the other three got the weeks total up 14. But even they included Luton getting a first home win this season, and Swindon inflicting a first defeat of the season on Mansfield. On such a difficult week it was a fantastic performance from burnsieespana to get three 3 pointers, the 2-1 wins for Luton and Swindon and the Grimsby 1-1, and the Plymouth outcome, to make him the weeks top scorer with a brilliant 10 points. One member did well to have two 3 pointers, that was BFG, who had the 2-1 win for Luton to go with the good Reading 2-1 prediction, and two outcomes, to give him an excellent 8 points. Best of those to get one 3 pointer was blueeagle, who had the Swindon 2-1, and four outcomes to give him a decent 7 points.
The two 1-1 draws this week has given that result 13 for the season, nowe equal with the 0-1, in being the seasons top result.
Happy Cup A reminder to those who have yet to post their predictions. The 2nd Round takes place next weekend. Games to be decided by only 9 fixtures now, as Barnsley have been kicked out of the FA Cup, after fielding an ineligible player in their 1st Round replay win.
U'sual Champions League With five weeks to go befor we know who the qualifiers will be for this seasons competition, the member currently in that all important eleventh place is burnsieespana with his 73 points. Showing how just one big week can change everything. There are seven members within 6 points of that total, so still a lot to play for.
In the Premier Two outcomes for concordman, means it is a rare week without a 3 pointer for him, and thrillseeker, with the Luton 2-1 spot-on, takes advantage to reduce his lead, to what is a still healthy 10 points. The decent week for blueeagle moved him up a couple of places to a season high third. In fact he was the only one to improve his position in this division. The late winner for Swindon saved mfb_cufc from firing a blank, and he is drops to fourth on the most 3 pointer rule. A solid week for unitedwhites, that included getting the Grimsby 1-1 spot-on, put him back into contention for a Charity Shield spot, even though he also dropped a place. Another to benefit from having the Grimsby 1-1 spot-on was oxfcolu, to give him a bit more breathing place from the bottom three. After firing his first blank since Week 36 in the 2021/22 season, RSCOSWORTH moved a little closer to the relegation zone, and has only 2 points to spare now. That also means a first blank for Moor_Pinot since he changed to his current name, hasn't done any damage to his chance of surviving.
In Division One Three outcomes for basher2010 made sure he would take his time at the top to six weeks. But that lead was reduced again, as a solid week from Daniel that included getting the Grimsby 1-1 spot-on, moved him up a couple of places, and into the other automatic spot again. A tough week for TheRams and Jorash63, and they both drop a place to third and fourth. The excellent week for BFG continued his good recent run, and he moves up another place to fifth. The top scoring performance from burnsieespana moved him up a massive six places, and into the final play-off spot. It was only three weeks ago when he was fourteenth, and he is back into the top 6 for the first time since Week 4. An impressive five outcomes was enough for Blue4U2 to remain seventh, and still within a point of the play-offs. Having the Swindon 2-1 spot-on helped to move Colukev up a couple of places. His reward for picking, what turned out to be, a difficult set of fixtures. By firing a blank Lewis_1 has dropped to thirteenth. His lowest position this season. With the bottom two durham_exile and Madeira163 both getting a 3 pointer, they are now both only 11 points from the play-offs, in what is turning out to be a competitive league.
