You do realise that your club have picked up the 71st position trophy. Of course there isn’t actually a trophy for that position, although I know you would have liked one. We did actually win something though, unlike your 40th anniversary celebration of your cup triumph. That event does make me smile Yep, we watched Henry for many years as well, man of them when you were in the lower leagues. Henry couldn’t beat us in the league that year though could he? But unfortunately that’s just going to be happening more and more with how big the gaps getting, which is why I’d have my money on Ipswich breaking that record next season. But still loosing to some of the best teams in the world is better than getting knocked outta cups to non league teams on a regular basis…

It happened twice, so hardly regular and both games had an early red card for us, with the 2nd game also having a 2nd red card for us. Perhaps you have forgotten that your record top flight defeat is 10-0. If only you had played a bit more regularly in the top flight, the same could have happened to you, but only having played a paltry 8 seasons since 1959 suggests that isn't going to happen any time soon.

You finished in 16th place in League 2, just 9 years ago - that is the 84th position trophy !! As for Henry, he joined Arsenal in 1999 and left in 2007. We saw him for 7 years (1999 to 2005) and you saw him for only 5 (2003 to 2007).

‘Perhaps you have forgotten that your record top flight defeat is 10-0. Well, it was almost 100 years ago in the clubs first ever season in the top flight. So maybe he can’t remember that one - unlike your double thrashing which is etched in everyone’s memory up and down the country. But it was the first year of 32 consecutive seasons in the top flight, and we never managed to a match it.

Those are two top division finishes from Hampshires greatest club. If you haven’t got the mental capacity to verify facts, I can’t help you. Both sequences are superior to your clubs best finishes of course. Just keep covering your eyes if it’s too painful.
