Started reasonably well, but Orient well in control at the break. Still in it though.

Just need to thrash Arsenal in a few weeks time to proceed to the last 16. Easy!

Better after 60 mins, when changed to four across the back.
Tovide worked hard up front, but let himself down with shocking penalty miss.
Side looks much better with a Taylor and Edwards in the side. Wide guys not threatening enough.

Poll: No half measure either 1 or 2 ?

Frankly, Anderson, Gordon and Hunt were disappointing. Tovide is an embarrassment. Stone wall penalty denied, probably because referee was conscious of his cheating antics and his simulations stimulated doubt. His penalty sums him up. Never looked like he was going to score.

The positives, 345 travelling fans that made all the noise. A fine welcome in Orient’s real ale bar (Cowling to note), a MKD v Arsenal result that keeps us in a pole position. No game Saturday, so hopefully some injuries can heal.

345 is a brilliant turnout - well played to all that went

Thanks for your comments noah - someone needs to have a word with Tovide as when he concentrates on playing instead of the constant grounding/ diving he is a real handful

The ref at Port Vale had the measure of Tovide right from the start. Second half he’d had enough. There was one instance when the theatrics started again and despite there obviously being nothing seriously wrong, the ref called straight for the physio so he could send Tovide to the touchline where he left him for an age before letting him back on the pitch. Meanwhile we are playing with 10 men for no good reason.

It shows weak management. He’s 20 for God’s sake. His immature temperament should have been nipped in the bud last season, but instead, this season his pathetic behaviour is an embarrassment to the club and will cost us. If he won’t listen, he should have been off-loaded instead of Bradley.

I’m not sure about Anderson, he’s not had a decent run since injury, but clearly Gordon and Hunt are on a reasonably long list of signings that have failed, so far, to be anywhere near good enough.

If the Cowley’s knew they would have to sell the silver every time someone came knocking, I’m amazed they took the job, but they did, and this is their show, there are no valid excuses anymore.

In fairness, the penalty by Read wasn't too clever either. If your going down the middle, you've got to lift above the keepers feet.

I think some of the problem with Samson is that he believes the constant bullshit that spews out of DC.

I appreciate they have to pretend the academy is working and that he's the next great star to come from its ranks, but it seems like all this, he's a great talent, he's going to go far, we've had great offers for him, has gone to his head. He's not a child, he's not too many years away from his peak and so far he's achieved very little in the game and the way he's going, he's not likely too either.

Despite possibly having more talent that Bradley, at the moment, he's poles apart in terms of where their respective careers are likely to go. It's a shame really.

Tovide had good role models in Taylor and Akinde to learn his art. If you want to play pantomime villain during ninety minutes that’s fair enough, but come off the pitch with goals or assists.
Has he got a striker’s instinct, a penalty is still a penalty in whatever context of the game, what did go on in the organising of the spot kicks, has his on field attitude did not look positive from the moment he went to take it.
Has I said in previous post, let himself and above all his team mates down .
