January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts 11:08 - Jan 3 with 16648 views | CrashBandicoot | Apologies if there is a transfer thread I'm opening a thread for the January transfer window which has now opened. Who should be a potential signing for us and who should move on either via loan or permanently? I've heard Kyrell Lisbie & Gus Scott Morriss mentioned as potential targets but could they potentially make the jump from NL to L2? Some players do but others don't. Plus actual transfers that we bring in & out can also be mentioned here.

January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts on 10:51 - Jan 20 by MarkyMark47 | Interesting. From the Wikipedia page, it says that he was offered a professional contract by Leicester Tigers in 2018 but decided to pursue a career in football. |
Should be a strong no nonsense player then. He did well for Swindon in 2021-22 in L2 so maybe this is his preferred league?

He was only 19 then as well. Played in the same team as Iandolo, Hunt and Payne so at least a few of our players should know what he's like. He's still a young player and could turn out to be a really good signing.

This is also from me. Same source that told me about Simpson. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts on 22:47 - Jan 21 by ghughes11 | looked a bit rusty coming off the bench vs Harrogate - which is worrying considering he has played 25 times already this season for Stevenage! Maybe lack of training time with the squad (although has played with a good few of them at his time at Swindon) and we'll see better from him as the season continues |
Probably just needs to get some confidence flowing in him tbf. I think he's definitely got potential.

Let’s be fair. Pitch was atrocious, service to him and Taylor was poor.

Agree. We've seen the Taylor/Tovide combination at home, so perhaps DC will start both Taylor and Simpson on Saturday, so that we can get ahead early and then shut up shop later in the game.
January 2025 transfer window hopes & facts on 11:05 - Jan 22 with 321 views | CrashBandicoot | Looks like Tom Hopper is leaving the club. Is Simpson replacing him or are we lining someone else up?

He hasn't played since 4 January but in fairness to Tyreece he was not allowed to play up front with Taylor and was expected to simply lead the line with little support for the last 30 minutes. He is a big unit (maybe a little too big) but clearly is strong and powerful. Harrogate played with 10 behind the ball and showed little ambition towards the end of the match so he was always a marked man. Will be a different player when linked up with LT. Up the U's

Interesting comment about Simpson. I don't know where the Football Yearbook gets the player's weights from, but it says that Simpson is an inch shorter than Taylor, but a stone lighter.

There appears to be interest from Colchester for Bristol Rovers striker Jevani Brown. Gillingham and Fleetwood also interested. My view is I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. Has burned his boats from his previous experience at Colchester. Instead let's get the best out of Tyreece Simpson, retain Samson Tovide and look after Lyle Taylor. After the success of Donnelly and McDonnell from Nottingham Forest do they have a young 19 year old striker that we could sign on loan? Jevani Brown can go elsewhere. Up the U:s

No I agree that we shouldn't be taking another gamble on JB and let Gills or Fleetwood take a gamble on him if thats what they want to do. Though he had a reasonable 2020-21 season for us he has done very little in the last few seasons For Bristol Rovers & Notts County. Lets focus on bringing a fresh striker in.
