Builthie I honestly believe the Sky coverage is hitting us hard. 3pm Saturdays won't see so much of a drop off, but all other kick offs are live on TV people are choosing to watch at home particularly mid week.
Swansea City v Sheffield Wednesday : Match day thread on 21:22 - Feb 9 with 4427 views | Dr_Winston | Being as dull to watch for most of the last five years as paint drying has hit our attendances. Previously being on telly has never had much of an effect.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

This is the first year that all non 3pm kick offs can be watched legally on tv in the UK with a subscription. It does affect attendances, just compare mid week drop off to 3pm Saturdays.

You can’t beat a live game though. It’s worth putting yourself out for.

Seems to have affected our games by far more than other teams in the championship. Off the 17 teams who were in the Championship for both 23/24 and 24/25 seasons average attendances have falled by 11 and that is without the March and April figures where teams pushing for play off places will attract bigger crowds. 8 teams had higher attendances 9 teams lower attendances that includes 3 teams who's attendances have changed by less than 100. Biggest falls Cardiff 2002 QPR 1305 Millwall 1252 Swansea 1183 Biggest increases Sunderland 3246 Coventry 1773 Blackburn 1208 Watford 531 Overall for the 24 clubs average attendances are down 1023 due to Luton being relegated Oxford being promoted. I would say we have a high percentage of our sales as season ticket holders and many of these are not turning up midweek. We are then getting a false attendance figure, the big worry is if these do not renew. Everyone around me, probably 5+ rows in front and behind are all season ticket holders, many do not turn up midweek and are not talking about renewing, the ones I talk to say they stay home and watch on Sky. This is what forms my opinion. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Think you will find every Club has a high percentage on season ticket sales these days. So all clubs have a higher attendance than actual attendance. The worry is very few casual supporters seem to turn up these day even when we have attractive opposition or when we have a good run.

Swansea City v Sheffield Wednesday : Match day thread on 08:00 - Feb 11 with 3450 views | Azzuriswan | i think part of the problem with us is that our home games have become boring and very repetitive. Very little goalmouth action and pace from our players. Slow slow football . Perhaps now that our tactics have got to change as MG has left support will increase a bit

I was thinking the other day, how much more enjoyable it was listening to us play away game on the radio, all before this sky and streaming stuff, theres so much on tv now i wonder how much we really watch it, or just watch when something happens?

Will we revert to a flat back 4 with Delcroix on the bench? With Darling returning along with Cooper,Parker,Ginelly the bench starts to.look better. It will be interesting to see

I was thinking this. Ginelly, Parker and to a lesser extent, Cooper, will be like new signings due to them all being out for so long. I’m going tomorrow night, & it’s the first time in ages I’m going with a very cautious optimism after Sunday, although the little voice in my head is telling me to stop being so naive!! Another 3 points would be massive though, all things considered. [Post edited 11 Feb 19:16]

A back four with Delcroix and Naughton as full backs. Key and Tymon wide with O'brien and Franco in the middle. Cullen advanced with Bianchini up front. Radical I know but it will be solid and exciting to watch.

Maybe Ronald in front of Naughton... There are lots of combinations.....and there is Eom Peart Harris too

We have plenty of options off the bench, but is Williams astute enough to utilise them.

Well we will soon see....now he has more quality tools will his decisions be different. How we set up and played Sunday was more like he played at Notts County. Some interesting times ahead...

I can't envisage too many changes unless enforced. SW could be there for the taking and it's a home fixture we should be looking for maximum points. Not the time to tinker, test or rest when we're just a few successive losses away from falling into the relegation battle.

But can he afford to risk Naughton for a midweek game given his age and hamstring injury suffered at the end of last season injury but then again can he afford not to risk him?

I’d doubt he’ll pick Naughton but there again he may start him and sub him early second half. Bit risky though regardless of the performance he put in in Sunday.
