If only Carlsberg did dreams of a sentimental return to roots….

I'd hope we offer him a chance to train with us to retain fitness which he could pass on his vast top level experience with to our young squad while he finds something suitable.

It's an interesting point. Is there anyone within the club setup (with any influence) who was around when CD was part and parcel of the Dale story around the time of our first promotion? Someone who could make that connection with him?

I ask this, because there's a multitude of fans who're very well aware of how vital he was to our success at that time, but that collective memory mightn't exist within the club itself - part of the reason why we sometimes feel as if there's a disconnect between club and fanbase

Jack the Kitman?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Jack the Kitman?

Were Jim McNulty or Hendo around then?

Edit- Josh Lillis is the only current link to the club other than jack the kitman

Don't think he will struggle to find a club somewhere in the Midlands to extend his career.
Reports on Deadline day suggested that a swap deal to Leicester had been muted.
To added to his "W" theme perhaps Walsall might be next stop.
Whilst the idea of a sentimental return would be great, just don't see it being an attractive proposition even to train when you live in the Midlands.
Appreciate his days at Premiership level are probably at an end, but still think he has the nous to play in Championship for a couple more seasons and still earn decent money

Has he done his coaching badges?

Think so, not 100% sure, will ask his dad later or next time I see him in the Dog.
