I know today will be all about the score, but I just wanted to point out that the shape of the team, without the ball, has improved massively.
That, along with the balance improvement, has coincided with Mbengue moving to FB, and Dunne switching to CB.
Pretty boring, but for those who love to watch the whole team it has been a significant change. |  |

Definitely the sub of JCS had an impact.
What I've noticed over the past month is how we allow the opposition the width, then the trigger is pulled and three or four go at once to box in the FB or winger.
It's causing major problems for the opposition, and we are winning the ball higher up the pitch.
I'm a bit sad, but I'm more impressed with what we do without the ball. Can't lose that way. Might explain why we are winning more than drawing. [Post edited 20 Dec 19:05]

Our pressing from the front was also much improved today. Dembele, Kone and Saito were all well drilled and at it. Long may that aspect of our game continue because it`s (obviously) key to the way we want to play. | | | |

Yep, in our years of struggle (Spring 2022-Autumn 2025), we would be lucky to get the ball within 10 yards of the opposition goal once every 15 minutes. Now it’s pinging around there all the time. [Post edited 20 Dec 22:55]

The balance being right is spot on and that comes from good coaching. What’s even more impressive is that we won 4-1 but the full backs were the best players.
We looked really good today and Stéphan continues to get us playing better and better, massive credit to him. | | | |
