Hoopsa on Oxford point and Wrexham preview
at 21:07 21 Jan 2026

JS can't change the midfield as he doesn't have the players (been saying for 18 months the CM needs fixing).
The coaches solution, and for me the only one, is to bypass the midfield by hitting it long. Kone as the target, Burrell pace.
It's been working until Burrell got injured, but we have Obikwu now. It will work a lot better Saturday.

Not sure stuffing up the midfield with Hayden and Field would be the right thing to do as it isn't going to help with the creativity.

Madsen can't play further forward, he admitted that in the W12 podcast last month.

Agree. It is becoming increasingly difficult to follow a thread due to the amount of abusive posts from Elbow. He is swamping almost every thread.

I actually dread QPR losing, not due to the defeat, but that Elbow will be ruining it on here.

By far and away our best 'footballer" as he seems to be the only one with a brain sometimes.

Said a few weeks back he would do really well in Serie A.

I can though see why some might not rate Madsen when we compare him to Geoff Cameron, Sam Field, Marc Pugh, Andre Dozell, Luke Amos.
How we marvelled at their passing ability and all round game.

Modicums of comfort

WTF. Bennie has had 2 senior starts and you've written him off.

It makes me laugh with some on here. We've been screaming for the club to bring young players through and when they play they're deemed not good enough immediately. Ridiculous.

The big positives over the past 2 games is that Walsh, Bennie, Kolli and Esquadinha have all played a lot of minutes, and we haven't lost.
Don't underestimate how impressive, but also important, that is for them and the club going forward.

Give the youngsters a chance FFS.

The 3 sides of a match thread at Oxford

I'm more than comfortable with that result. I said straight after the Sheffield Wednesday that everyone will need to remain calm as January was going to be a shocker.

Unsurprisingly, some are starting to lose their sh!t.

I'll pass judgement at the end of the season. Finish between 10-12th is a success.

We all knew with the injuries that January would be tough, and so it is. We shouldn't be surprised.

Take the point and move on.

We didn't want the ball when Burrell was playing, he could just chase the long balls out.

January transfer rumours

Several MLS teams are interested (he was meant to go there in January 2024 I think). Plus Championship teams.

He'll be sold, if not January then the summer.

A different ball game - Preview

Hate to say it, but it's got 0-0 written all over it. We look desperately short of creativity with the players missing, and seriously lack pace.

Is the season over?

You're already killing my optimism for next season, and this one isn't even finished yet. 😆

I've got full confidence of a playoff place next season, and no one is going to tell me differently until May 2027.

My feelings exactly. Injuries have killed this season, and if we're being honest we have exceeded expectations so far. Keep going, but I had us top half, top 10 at a push, which is very achievable.

Next season is the one where we start to challenge and been saying this for 18 months. If they sort the CM out.

Good luck to him and hope he earns a world cup spot. Certainly never let us down.

Justin Obikwu

Most of his appearances are off the bench, but he does impact games.

Loads of pace and power. Could be a really good signing for us, and will help Kone and Burrell massively by actually allowing them a rest.

And we never spoke of it again – Report

Nasty, agro, horrible. All the things this club has lacked for the past decade or more. And I loved it.

I loved it because you can actually start to build something with that attitude and character. It was a disgusting game to watch, but it does show we can be a nasty bunch.

The other thing not really mentioned is how well QPR kept their shape for 90 odd minutes and restricted Stoke to naff all. Kudos for Stephan.

Isn't it wonderful to have opposition fans moaning because we didn't role over and die. Thanks for posting this Elbow.
