Well, if you have one midfielder who can pass and three that can't then that makes him by far the best we've got. Only have to look at the Oxford game at home when he didn't play to see what will happen to this team.

In the land of the blind etc.

If he is injured for a month or so then that is the season finished for this team. 16th here we come.
Scandalous that we have no other midfielders capable of passing a ball 10 yards to a teammate.

Anyone who the club believe can be a big sale will play ahead of anyone else.
Varane has already had £5m bids rejected, so he'll be off soon. Saito, full international cap since he joined which has added value.
These guys need to play at least 50 to 75 games for us, then they're off.
Talking up Smith at AFCON. Playing Esquadinha.

All about adding value then selling.

Everything that is happening, which would usually take 4/5 seasons is going at warp speed.
The club want promotion next season.

No it hasn't. Those that signed were put on 5 or 6 year deals, the spend can be offset by the length of contract.

We tried to sign Edwards in September, so money is still there. Wages will be the issue, hence players have to go.

Couple of things. Not sure Vale was meant to come on, looks like Madsen has a knock. Bit hard to criticise a player who's had no football in 2 months.

It's pretty clear Varane is being played so he can be sold. He's played just over 50 games for us now, so he may go in January.

Biggest worry is that it looks like Madsen was subbed off due to an injury, he was definitely limping.

Back to Varane/Field/Hayden CM combos. What f@cking joy for the New Year.

That was a big, steaming curly one. Stinky and awful.

Agree. Can count on one hand the number of good games he's had for us.

Should have flogged him in the summer.

Esquadinha skinned by the 1-2 which led to the corner, Hamer in full Nardi mode.

FFS.

That's different!

Stodge up the midfield. Is that Field at RB or Dunne?

Kill the game, extra midfielder, 25% possession, sh!thousing masterclass. Get the 0-0 and back to Loftus Road. Job done.
It's not popular, but sometimes you just have to be pragmatic.

It'll be a 4-4 thriller now.

January transfer rumours

Rumours on social media are we're looking to offload before anyone comes in. Wages apparently.
Frey, Morrison & Nardi allegedly. Smyth if he doesn't sign.

The squad does look a little bloated in areas, but, and I know this has been mentioned earlier, surely we have to move up a couple from the DS to reduce the wage bill again.

Problem is to have a possession based game then you need both CM players to be comfortable on the ball. We only have one, Madsen, while Varane, Field and Hayden are not.

It is really easy for the opposition to double up on Madsen and press him knowing Varane etc will do nothing dangerous with the ball.
That's why we struggle without JCS stepping up and Chair with his ability to makes things happen in field.

Fully expect Norwich and Wednesday to allow us to have the ball, drop in deep and deny space behind.

It doesn't matter what fans expectations are, only the players can do it.
To turn that around at half time is really impressive and a great indication of the character within the team.

Any point gained away from home is a good point.

Some (usual suspects) over reacting to this result/performance. Remember where we were last season compared to this and keep some perspective. We'd have lost this game last season, no doubt about it, but we didn't.

We saved a point due to a half time reaction. Wouldn't have done that 12 months ago.
Point at WBA and it'll be a good couple of days.

Sorry, but if you're an 18yo + and the loan is to National League South/North then forget it.
Stephen Duke McKenna who played 10 games for us is at Harrogate, bottom two of L2. Betache is in the US at some weird club.

We've produced nothing over the past 5 years. Maybe Bennie and the SA lad might come through, but the rest are there to make up the numbers. And I really want the DS to produce players.

Why do you think Nourry has said we need to sell? To buy in better players.

My son and I had the same conversation about 10 minutes in. We looked unbalanced and our left side was never a threat going forward.
Saito got a lot of grief on here yesterday, but he was rarely played through. Smyth made little difference.

Ronnie Edwards not even in the Southampton matchday squad. Could it be?
