REFORM 18:55 - Jan 28 with 460 viewsjohnlangy

I had a very brief read today on the history of the Reform party. One particular line stood out for me. It said ‘as of 2025, Reform UK is capitalizing on public disillusionment with the political elite’.

A couple of days ago the odious Suella Braverman defected to Reform from the Conservative party joining Robert Jenrick, Danny Kruger, Andrew Rosindell and Lee Anderson. Also other very prominent Conservatives like Nadhim Zahawi, Nadine Dorries and David Jones. There are many others.

One of the problems Reform has that Farage concedes often is the party’s lack of politically experienced people.

So let’s imagine for a second that Reform was to win the next General Election. Nigel Farage would be Prime Minister and he would have to decide who should be in his cabinet. He would look for experience and logically all the above could/would end up as ministers in that government along with many of the other defectors I couldn’t be bothered to list.

Here’s the quote again ‘as of 2025, Reform UK is capitalizing on public disillusionment with the political elite’.

So the answer to that disillusionment would be to create a government including a huge number of the Conservatives that largely created the disillusionment and that also at the same time almost fatally damaged just about every pillar of society that we depend on. To put it another way, a government of the Conservative ‘political elite’.

We’d be essentially back to square one with a Conservative government in all but name.

Can anyone really want that bunch of shysters governing the country ?

The failed -14 years- Tories are moving over to Reform by the day.
People, either have very short memories or are a bit twp. I mean 14 years of an awful govt and some want to go back for more. Wow.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Its laughable John, he's shot himself in the foot taking that liar Jenrick on, Lee Anderson could be said to be the only one of that bunch who is politically astute, maybe pushing it a bit on that front though.

Farage has killed any faint hope he had of becoming PM, taking that little lot on,

Labour is terrified of reform
It’s why they are tearing bit him
Same with lovely Ed Davey on Libs
The WOW is people voting for a party that actually wants to encourage unknown, unchecked often criminal males into wales
Having lifelong hatred for Torirs doesn’t wash now as folk have seen Labour for what they are , liars and shutters
They are stomach churning stupid headed by a Barrister who failed to bring her berets of filthy pervs to justice

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

It’s the fundamental law of revolution. Everything ultimately stays the same. When the English and the French got fed up with the lavish tyranny of the kings and extended family they chopped their heads off hoping for something better, but within a few short years had Cromwell and Napoleon sitting in palaces ruling as kings with their sons as heirs, giving important positions to members of their extended family.

Reform will be the same, it’ll be business as usual in Westminster with the same old tired faces in their fancy Savile row suits cocking everything up and lurching from scandal to scandal whilst having their hands in the till.

Poll: We all dream of a managerial team of Alan Tates?

I know you hate it that your beloved Tories ruined the country, and left people to wipe up after them. Perhaps you will follow your mates to reform now.

Much as people criticise Reform it speaks volumes that so many in the country would rather vote for them instead of Labour and the Conservatives.

I wouldn't for either of them or reform or Plaid here in Wales.

You’re as bad as the Chorley One
Read what I post
I don’t explain myself to anybody be least of all to the likes of you who cannot exchange respectfully
People have a right to vote Tory as you Labour

If you’re really arsed and to shut you up finally ? There are no political parties worthy of my vote

Don’t bring hatred onto this side of the site

Reform are yet to prove that they're a serious political party instead of a Farage ego trip. Filling their ranks with failed Tories who are only after a safe seat in Parliament is not a step in the right direction when it comes to that.

They are however the most likely to be able to end this Government as it stands, although there's plenty of time before the next election.

The UK is going to be dealing with the consequences of 30+ years of Blairist politics by the time that rolls around and I don't have much confidence in any of the current leading political "talent" to be able to undo that much damage.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Most of us know that none of the parties offer us a viable option and supporters clinging onto the shirt tails of parties that they have always supported doesn't help. There needs to be a complete overhaul of British politics and basically start again. Reform is not the answer it is just a vehicle to kick the backsides of the current parties and get some sort of change. How things will turn out and how many will vote who knows but we certainly can't go on the way we are. Change needs to come and it probably won't happen in my lifetime but who knows, who would have thought Labour in Wales would have gone from first to fourth in one term.

Politics in Wales is even worse.

We've had nearly 30 years of left leaning Governments and Wales is failing against every measure that matters. The response of many to that is to vote for an even more lunatic version of Labour. The latest thing now is people whining that they're not in charge of Policing too.

She wouldn't thank me for it, but I'd be recommending that Mrs. Winston's kids both get the hell out of here once they've graduated.

The split between the party’s on the perceived right will ensure none of them get into power.
